Molly's cause of death isn't very clear at the moment; all that is know is that she sticks around on the moral plane and haunts a shadow demon named Terra. Why? Still very unclear.

Molly's mother was a witch who had traded her humanity away in a deal with an incubus. When her wicked deal came to light in a religious village of humans, she was beaten and left for dead in a haunted forest.

After Molly's mother didn't survive childbirth, Molly was left fragile and helpless in the mystic woods. After a convoluted sequence of events leading baby Molly to be blessed by Aurora, Molly was sent to be raised by fallen angels on the outskirts of a small village. These angels took Molly in as their own, but taught her to hide away her demonic features in favor of her life. If she lived as an angel, she could avoid demon hunters and other hanis groups that wandered the middle-grounds.

She became dysphoric over her demonic aspects as she grew; her black nails, her spade tail, and her dreaded appetite for the immoral were all parts of her demon form that she can't always hide away from herself. She wanted to be just as etherial and holy as the angels that raised her, causing Molly to feel shut in and depressed with her state of life.

This way of living took a sharp turn when Molly met Terra.
