Rosemary McCain is an 18-19 year old High School senior that helps run her Aunt's bakery. She lives with her parents and younger brother in a New York apartment. Her father, Clint McCain, is a buisnessman who is often away on work trips. Her mother, Enid Joy, is an office worker who often assists with the family bakery, owned by her sister, Juniper Joy. Her younger brother, Finley 'Fin' McCain, a rambunctious middle-schooler who's clumsiness causes a lot of messes. Rosemary is very close with all of her family members but is closest to Aunt Juniper, her mother's sister, seeing as she'd like to take over the family bakery - Baked Joy - one day.
When she isn't helping out her Aunt Juniper at her bakery, she's often doing errands for a family friend of her father's, a college professor and scientist by the name of Dr. O. Octavius. She used to babysit for his youngest daughter, Opal, but since she turned 14, the babysitting gigs have slowed down. Regardless, Dr Octavio has taken notice of her interest in chemistry, and has made it a goal of his to help her get to where she needed to be. He got her a tour at Oscorp through a connection of his to the founder - this is where her story changed.

Before Spider-Woman
Thanks to her family friend Dr Octavius, she managed to squeeze her way into a tour around Oscorp. After her tour at Oscorp, Rosemary headed back to the bakery to help her aunt with the closing shift. Unbeknownst to her, she had a little spider tagging along. It was a small jumping spider, known as a Beardfooted spider or a Santis Barbipes. After Aunt Juniper left for the night due to not feeling well, leaving Rosemary to clean up, the spider crawled from Rosemary's backpack and into the bag of flour she was using. When Rosemary stuck her hand in, the spider bit her hand, causing her to reel back and flick the spider onto the ground. She managed to capture it in a jar and put it away in her backpack, hoping to put it somewhere where it could be safe. Although, she quickly started to become ill. She was dizzy, her head ached, her eyes became sore. She quickly made her way back home, closing a bit early that night, and she collapsed in bed without dinner. This worried her family a bit, but they all figured she was exhausted from her long day and let her be.
Getting her powers
In the morning, she woke up feeling fine. However, her clothes didn't fit as well as the day before, suddenly too tight or too small. She went with wearing all baggy clothes instead, hoping that maybe it would all sort itself out and that she wasn't going through some kind of super late growth spurt. Her hand stuck to the doorknob of her room, and it took a lot of struggling to get her hand off, nearly tearing it off the door. She swung open her door just in time to see Finley with a plate of breakfast for her. Her family was happy to see her feeling better. She got to class fine, but on the way back from class, a car nearly sped across the crosswalk. In an instant, she leapt into the air, flipping over the car and landing safely on the other side. When she got back to the bakery, she talked to her Aunt about feeling strange. Although she didn't elaborate, her Aunt told her she would turn out fine, and that everything would be okay. That evening, she went into an alley by her home and decided to try out the new abilities she had gained. She could now climb walls and was incredibly flexible. Realizing it had something to do with the spider that bit her, she got an idea.
With great power...
Rosemary went to the smartest person she knew - an older man by the name of Dr Otto Octavius. She told Otto all about her strange experiences and showed him the spider that had bitten her. The two decided to go through a couple tests to see what kind of abilities she had inherited from the spider bite. Like she had discovered before, she could now climb walls and do incredible acrobatic acts. She had advanced strength, being able to lift up a car with relative ease. She could also leap grand distances and heights, from ten times her height to fifty times her height. Otto made her boots to wear so that she could help keep her feet safe during landings. She tried shooting silk from her wrists, but it was too weak to hold her, causing her to fall on her back while attempting a swing. Otto took a sample and realzied that her silk was much like an actual jumping spider's, and was just used for nests rather than webs. As such, he created her web-shooters with artificial fluid for her to use. Rosemary worked on her own costume, and with their combined effort she became a brand new vigilante. Otto promised to keep her secret.
...comes great responsibility
Rosemary, as Spider-Woman, didn't take her job very seriously at first. She would skip a class or two, forget to help her Aunt with a shift, caught up in the excitement of being a brand new vigilante. One day, her aunt pulled her aside for a talk. Aunt Juniper realized that Rosemary may be going through a rough patch, seeing as she was about to graduate high school. She made Rosemary promise to help her close up shop the next day, seeing as she was having a big sale and would need help in the evening. Rosemary promised. The next day, on her way back from errands, Rosemary went out as Spider-Man and caught a robbery in progress. She caught two of the robbers, but let the third one go, figuring that he wouldn't try something like that again. She basked in the praises of the people that she saved, leaping off into the city streets with cameras flashing and people calling out to her.
She was so caught up in the robbery, she had totally forgotten about helping Aunt Juniper. She raced back, hoping that she could apologize for missing the big event, and that everything would be fine. When she got back to the bakery, people were swarming the area and something was definitely wrong. Aunt Juniper had been shot in an attempted robbery and was bleeding out. She ran to her aunt's side, apologizing desperately. Apparently, Aunt Juniper had thought her niece was about to come in any moment, and had decided to fight off the robber for Rosemary's safety. Juniper told Rosemary to keep up the hard work, to practice her craft, and not to give uo. Aunt Juniper passed before the EMTs could get to her. Aunt Juniper's death shook Rosemary to her core, and she learnt a lot from it, carrying those lessons with her well into her adulthood. Following in her aunt's footsteps, Rosemary took over the bakery once she graduated High School with help from her mother.

Opal is very close with Rosemary. However, after seeing Spider-Woman standing over the dead body of her father, she made it her goal to kill Spider-Woman, using her father's technology to do so. Rosemary loves Opal like a little sister, but knows that things can never go back to how they were before the missunderstanding had occured.
Prism is a regular at Baked Joy. The two talk a lot, and Rosemary has slowly started to grow a crush. Little does Rosemary know, Prism likes Rosemary back... and so does Prism's new 'friend'. If only Prism didn't think Spider-Woman was so awful and judgemental... I wonder where she got that idea from?
These two definitely started off on the wrong foot! Rosemary sees Thrill as someone dangerous and scary, and Thrill sees Spider-Woman as a judgemental baddie who's head needs to be bitten off. Regardless, once the missunderstanding is cleared, the two have become more neutral to one-another. However, Rosemary can't help but feel like there's something oddly similar about Thrill. Maybe it's the eyes?
