Patience Evangeline Darcy
summary
Patience is a twelve year old half elf girl who died in a fire and became a ghost. She's a conjuration wizard and her familiar is a porcelain doll named Miss Henrietta. In spite of being dead, she's cheery and upbeat and loves pulling spooky pranks. Since her ghost was freed from the burned out shell of the orphanage, she's enjoyed scaring people, playing games on her very own cellphone, and getting to know the world outside.
Patience's mother was an elven woman by the name of Clara and her father is Titus Murai. Her mother taught her magic, but she died when Patience was around five years old and she was brought to Saint Pleasant's Garden Orphanage in Brittlebranch. There, she continued to show a natural aptitude for magic, which she practiced on her toys. She gave life to her favorite toy, a doll named Miss Henrietta, who became her familiar and constant companion. When she was twelve, a fire broke out at the orphanage. She snuck out of bed to practice her spells that night and fell asleep in a playroom. While the other children were evactuated from their beds, she was left behind and suffocated. The building was comdemned, and Patience's ghost continued to live there with only Miss Henrietta for company until she was found by her Uncle Willian. From there, she was taken into the care of her older brother Mordred and has enjoyed getting to know her plethora of other siblings, The Bastards of Murai.
Patience is currently living at the Tibeskwil Bridge with her older sibling, Amaroq. She's taken up the position of Apprentice Archmage of the Bridge under the current Archmage, Scorch Redroot. She's started making friends with many adventurers, as well as spending time with her best friend Scott Willoughby, whose family owns and operates the Bridge. The two of them spend their time getting up to trouble by stealing snacks from the kitchen and flipping coins.

- Coins. Scott introduced Patience to Coin Boy culture, and she's having a ton of fun with it.
- Toys. No matter how old she gets, Patience has an affinity for dolls, plushes, and figures. She often uses them to practice her magic.
- Snake. Patience recently got her own cell phone and she's gotten incredibly good at mobile games, especially Snake. She and Miss Henrietta are always trying to beat one another's high scores.

- Fire. Patience died in a fire, and ever since she's developed a fear of it.
Trivia
- Patience is still aging, even after her death. She's trying to solve the mystery of what makes her different than other ghosts.
- Patience's arcane focus is a pocketwatch Scott gave her. He hollowed out the pocketwatch and filled it with photos like a locket so that she would always have reminders of the people she loves, even if death takes her memory away.
- Patience can change her clothes, but anything she wears for more than a few minutes will develop burn holes and soot smudges.

Miss Henrietta

Miss Henrietta is a porcelain doll given to Patience by her mother. Through lots of experimentation, she was able to bring Miss Henrietta to life as her familiar. Miss Henrietta is technically a fiend, and can speak only to Patience through whispers in Abyssal. She mostly communicates through gesturing wth her arms and doing silly poses that Patience often mimics.
Amaroq of Stellark

Patience is under the care of their older half-sibling, Amaroq, who lives at the Tibeskwil Bridge. Amaroq often accompanies Patience on adventures as supervision. They've been taking the time to teach her about their goddess, Stellark, as well as spending time with her playing or braiding her hair. The two of them are close and Amaroq is incredibly protective of her. While she appreciates it, sometimes she feels a little bit stifled by their keeping secrets from her.
Scott Willoughby

Scott is Patience's best friend, partner in crime, and first crush. The two of them love to get up to trouble together by pranking their families and trying dangerous things when no one is paying attention. They collect coins and use flipping coins to make all of their decisions. Scott also helps Patience with her magical research, especially now that she's trying to understand the nature of her powers. The two of them can often be found in the fort they built together in the library, reading or practicing coin tricks.
Gemma Belmonte

Gemma and Patience met on a quest that took place in a dream, and Patience decided that they should be friends in spite of Gemma being in her mid-20s. Gemma can be snobby and a little mean, but she has a soft spot for kids, so Patience managed to worm her way into a friendship with her. She loves texting Gemma to tease her about her love life. Gemma sometimes takes her out for McDonalds.
Scorch Redroot

Scorch is the Archmage of the Tibeskwil Bridge and has taken on Patience as an apprentice. However, Scorch, having inherited the position, isn't a wizard and doesn't practice much magic. With encouragement from Scott, Amaroq, and other friends, Patience is now gunning to take his job.
Titus Murai

Titus Murai is Patience's father. She's never met him, but was told about him by her uncle and siblings. After the death of her mother, she'd hoped that he would come and retrieve her from the orphanage. She sometimes feels she has something to prove to him so that he realizes he was wrong to abandon her, but at the same time she thinks that he missed his last chance to be a good father when she died at the orphanage.
