Veuve Clicquot does not exist. Rather, it no longer exists. After the fall of Dalamud, and the Calamity irrevocably changing the landscape of Coerthas, the heritage vineyard awaited a slow death as the frost and biting cold crawled its way into the region. If one was blessed with terrifying luck, they might find the odd bottle tucked away in some hidden treasure chest, otherwise, it is one of countless facets forgotten in the Calamity.

Veuve competed in duels in the Coliseum and Frontlines, sweeping up fame and fortune along the way. Before reveling in the glory of combat, she stationed herself in Othard, seeking lost treasure and relics scattered in the then Garlean occupied regions. Before that, she had been another nameless soldier of the Garlean Empire, a fact she does not shy away from, nor does she advertise. If pressed further, the story ends there or she'll give you bocoshit like her family came from the moon and one day she wandered too far and fell on this star.
In truth, she came from the Golmore Jungle. Muscadet was her tribe and her family and home. The Green Word was the way of life she had only known, then one day she could not stand to stay and left the wood for good. After being witness to the grave destruction the Empire wrought at Carteneau, the shame festering inside her for casting aside her old way of life had finally swelled and become unbearable. Where she once thought the empire could usher a golden age for all people, she only felt disillusionment and dishonor.
She has since spent her time in Eorzea avoiding confronting herself.
Given her history, she does not stick to one venture for long, her past is colorful and storied and she'd gladly talk about life with you over a few drinks.
