Gil Valentine
About
Gil is a gooey mimic of a changeling. He can take the form of anything roughly his size or smaller. As a changeling, Gil is anxious about being discovered as such. He isn’t too good at maintaining the secret, to a comically sad degree. When anxious or frightened, he is prone to making mistakes with his disguised visage, either dropping it completely for a few seconds, or allowing his features to warp into overly exaggerated appearances (picture cartoony jaw-drops-on-floor, kinda funny exaggerations, nothing grotesque).
Gil typically tries to blend in as a half elf gardener or chef- specifically two roles he likes, that don’t require much social cues or interaction. He’s especially passionate about flowers and herbs, and takes a special liking to Hydragea because those flowers change colors, like him.
Design
Notes
- Whatever form he uses, Gil dresses to fit-in with the crowd.
- Must always wear glasses, or else he cannot see much at all.
- Bag is bottomless.
- Loves flowers, and loves to accessorize with them whenever available.
Personality
While he may be socially anxious and meek, Gil is a very friendly and goofy guy. He will often try and laugh at himself to ease that anxious tension. His attention span is short, and is quick to get distracted. Due to this, he is very forward about what he thinks in regards to compliments- he will just blurt them out as he thinks of them. He is quick to trust, and very gullible if treated nicely. He is loyal to a fault when he finds someone to latch onto, like a puppy.
Likes
Plants
He ADORES all plants to an excessive degree. He finds the act of gardening to be extremely peaceful and fulfilling. He keeps a small circle of friends just to talk about plants.
Friends
He adores and treasures his friends that he has made. Gil is quick to shower them in gifts or acts of service, as thanks for 'tolerating him'.
Giants
He thinks they're neat! They were very sweet when he met them, and it felt silly being carried in a pocket.
Insects
They are like natures little robots, they are very interesting!
Dislikes
Animals
He has a crippling fear of just about all animals. Dragons, insects, and fish are exempt.
Crowds
He was once trampled in a nightclub, and now fears crowded situations.
Slime Nicknames
Gil HATES being called words relating to slime, such as 'viscous, gooey, jelly', etc. It very much hurts his feelings.
Politics
Political and diplomatic matters are very confusing to him. Why not just say what you all mean?? Why must we be so confusing about everything?

Summary
One day he just ‘woke up’, knowing nothing, in a city and on his own. Gil had a prior life and different persona beforehand to ‘waking up’, that he knows nothing about, but for some unknown circumstance, cant remember or access any information about his past persona. Past self left no notes he could find or use.

Relations
Brellmoth
Brellmoth is a sentient plant from the Pride layer of Hell. Gil found Brellmoth in a crate in a marketplace. Upon trading for his freedom, Gil has since promised to take him along and keep him safe. He regularly asks to check in on what Brellmoth wants, and if he still wishes to follow. Gil has often offered a home in his friends' greenhouses, but Brellmoth has thusfar refused, preferring the sights of travel.
CI Magrin-Isidor
Magrin is a winter fey in the city of Grentorn. He is a Chief Inspector of the local police force. When Gil was kidnapped and thrown into the Fey, he landed in Grentorn, and promptly was arrested for breaking curfew and lockdown rules. He was a model prisoner, and quickly won the affection of the officers. Upon being granted supervised free roaming, Gil researched the citys issues and went to work at the local food bank and hospital to help (and learn what the people are like). Magrin greatly appreciates and respects Gil, and helped Gil pick out his Fey alter ego, Velli. Velli is unkowingly testing Magrin's loyalty to the law, because his superiors would execute Velli upon finding out what he is.
Klorphaxius, "Ivy"
Ivy is a blind, ancient Green dragon. Ivy snatched him up angrily for trespassing on her territory, but he quickly won her over by fawning over the gardens in her home. She is distrusting of all creatures, and is paranoid that people are always hunting her. As such, Gil thought it best to give her the nickname Ivy, to give her peace of mind that he will not tell others about her.
Red and Talula
Red and Talula are giants living on a small rocky island. Gil and his friends stumbled upon the group when investigating some menacing factories, and upon finding out that the giants were enslaved and chased off by the factory owners, the team swore justice, free of charge. The giants first distrusted them, as they do all small folk, but luckily Gil had begun learning the Giant language, and made a genuine attempt to respectfully communicate. He won them over thanks to his efforts. The team partnered with the Giants to destroy the factories on their island, and return their land to them. The team are considered honorary family members by the giant clan.
