The closest a mortal-born being has to ever gotten to achieving Godhood, Lucius goes by many names. He mainly goes by Lucius because it sounds cool. And don't ask him how he got here. It's a loooooong story.

Born an average (some might say below average) American in 2001, Mark Greene was dicking around one night in his campus's archaeology department while studying for a report on ancient Egypt. Of course, it's all fun and games until you mess with a mysterious ancient artifact and find yourself transported to Egypt's old kingdom, 4,000 years in the past. And turned into a cat to boot. After helping the cat goddess Bastet complete a quest, she offered him one wish. Naturally, Mark wished to return to his own time. Cheeky buggers that Gods tend to be, Bastet simply gave him immortality, fulfilling his wish the long way.  Stuck in Egypt for the next 2,000 years, Mark moved into the temple of Bastet, becoming the God's assistant and learning the art of magic.  His Egyptian name was "Miaw" (which was what all cats in ancient Egypt were supposedly named, based on a certain noise they make. No wonder he changed it)

He's watched the rise and fall of dynasties, the construction of ancient world wonders, guided the pharaohs of Egypt both politically and spiritually, and sparred with demons and spirits of the afterlife. His homes have ranged from royal palaces to regal temples to lonely alleyways to the underworld itself. The things he's witnessed could fill an entire library. After all, why read about history when you've lived through it?

He's also gained power, so much of it that even he doesn't understand its full limits. The knowledge of millennia has schooled him in both strategy and the mystical arts. He has collected (and misused) countless ancient artifacts, so many that the curses don't even affect him now.

When Alexander the Great conquered Egypt, he stayed by his side as a protector, and was given the name Lucius which he's kept ever since.

After the fall of Egypt, Lucius wandered the Earth until the present day, emotionally reuniting with his past self. (From a distance he didn't want to break any time/space continuum)

Now he's been recently hired by Heaven as a recruiter for the Human Rehabilitation Center, a center designed for the increasing number of ignorant humans who keep getting cursed by artifacts they know nothing about. The other Gods who run the center despise him for being mortal born, but they have to admit his resume is impressive.

Despite having the wisdom of 4,000 years, Lucius is still immature college kid brain, and isn't afraid to screw around (especially if it means pranking his former archaeology professor). Regardless, he's much smarter and wiser than before, and has learned to put his powers to good use. As he's very new on his current job he can be a bit clumsy and tends to slip up more than usual. Still he really wants to impress his bosses in the hopes that he can finally achieve Godhood. As a mortal (albeit an immortal one) he's trapped in the time stream, becoming a God would allow him to manipulate time and not force him to be stuck living out his wish. This is his main goal and motivation.

He can change his pelt at any time, appearing as any breed of cat. However, he can't take on any non-feline form. This seems to be an ability he developed rather recently when it became necessary to disguise himself after the fall of Egypt. His favorite breeds are gray tabby and black. His modern outfit is a suit jacket with necklace, which he wears when on the job. To human eyes he appears as a normal cat without clothes.
