Profile

It was chaos, everything felt more like a nightmare than reality.

Looped warnings and orders were broadcast over ever radio frequency well after evacuation, telling people to make their way underground. Andrzej was one of the 'luckier' ones that managed to seek refuge in one of the many overcrowded bunkers.

Hundreds of thousands in Warsaw alone were left behind. Men, women and children all left to fend for themselves. Everyone panicked and anarchy ruled the ruins of the city. The remains of buildings quickly became burnt out shells, people were murdered for the simplest of supplies... That is, of course, for as long as those on the surface survived the fallout.

Even life in the bunkers was a living hell. Many were left wondering what had happened to loved ones and what was to become of them, themselves. Andrzej was no exception. Just a few years earlier he and his wife had been blessed with a son. Not long after, Andrzej moved his young family to Warsaw so he could take up residency in one of the city's largest hospitals. They were happy, things had fallen into place. They had a future. But now, everything was hopeless.

Supplies in the bunker quickly diminished. People fell ill from malnourishment and others soon lost their minds. Andrzej focused on helping others in the bunker, everyone else's needs coming before his own. Anything to try and keep his mind preoccupied. He worked with what little he had to try and help the ill, even if it was a lost cause.

Eventually, himself and four others were the sole survivors. It was a memory that burned itself into his mind. Hundreds were dead and the group was forced to scavenge what they could from the corpses.

The small group banded together and headed out with Andrzej in charge. They headed to where they were needed to trade supplies, while Andrzej offered the medical help he could.

It wasn't long before stress and insanity tore the group apart. Two were found dead by their own hand. The third had disappeared after accusing the final two of being 'after' him.

Andrzej and a younger woman named Natalia were the only ones left.

Over the years, the two looked after each other. Andrzej was forced to adapt to wasteland medicine while Natalia had a way of persuading others into giving them supplies and lending them their skills.

Their skills had not gone unheard of, and eventually, the two found themselves working with the Hunters. By this time, the radiation had gotten to both of them, Andrzej wasn't completely with it any more. Far from the bright young man he used to be, he was nothing but a shell of his former self. Andrzej was getting on in years, weary and unstable at the best of times.

But there was one thing he wouldn't, no, couldn't, let go. The hope of finding his family alive, even after all these years.
