A particularly strange man that's only fixations in life are beauty, dolls, and pretty things; and he's uncaring for almost anything besides those two things. Referred to as the "dollmaker" (a title he insists upon) his work is the art of putting people back together and making them "beautiful". Or at least, he's the maker of living dolls; creatures that barely pass as human and have been frankensteined back together from cadavers. With, of course, plenty of augmentations made to make them more "doll-like."
Austin's pride and joy, his "beautiful, wonderful, dolls." To anyone else, the dolls appear just to be walking corpses with big eyes and implanted hair that don't belong to them, and frilly outfits as if they were a normal doll you'd play dress-up with. He lives entirely in his own world, and it's unclear if he actually believes in the things he says or if he thinks repeating it will make it true.
It’s best not to stare at him too long, or wonder too much about his appearance. Everything about him is perfect and precise, shiny eyes, flawless skin, and even his movements all precise and elegant. But the longer a person stares the more uncanny it all becomes. So leave him be as he walks past, and only take one glance before looking away.
Austin by all means is eccentric, enthusiastic, and cheerful. He seems to constantly wear a smile on his face, while closed or not, it’s permanent. His mannerisms are the prime example of spoiled but trying to fit in, and it’s almost hard to notice if you ignore his emphasis on certain things. Not to mention the way he carries himself, and the way he seems to always operate with a gentle touch. He’s confident, keeping his head high, but he’s not egotistical. It’s all about poise.
He is a bit morbid about things,but that's as far as he'll speak of out loud. His thoughts go farther, where he tends to be annoyed and can be very bitter and judgemental. Those are the things he chooses not to speak of out loud for fear it might destroy his perfect image.
- First and most importantly, he has augmented his own body to appear and function exactly the same as a ball-jointed doll; quite literally, he has given himself ball joints that function the same way a doll would.
- His skin is a combination of normal skin and plastic, and it does make him appear "shiny" more often thatn not.
- His mouth can only move very small movements, but his voice is very well projected regardless, even if it can sound a little bit muffled at times. Although he's very expressive with his arm movements and walking (however, his movement is restricted to the way a ball-jointed doll could move.
- He is semi-inspired by Effie Trinket in outfits and demeanor.
Vide is Austin's proudest accomplishment, being as Austin reconstructed him and he remains to only living "doll" Austin has. Although it's unfortunate that Vide retains free-will and ambitions, his performances are amusing and he is a good assisstant.
Frankly, Guiyong is a nuisance, and Austin only keeps him around because he possesses supernatural abilities. He's not a half-bad assisstant, but he protests and lags behind far too much, and he's entirely boring and pathetic.
All he knows about Dr. Ahlder is that he's fixated on his daughter, and the man always seems to know a little too much at any given time. Frankly, the old man is irritating and he could really do well with some beautification.
