Seeth

Seeth is a robot oracle of unknown age and manufacture.

On Seeth's world, humans developed a sentient robotic workforce that they subsequently enslaved. Eventually, through an unknown cataclysm, humans went extinct, and robots developed a mimicry-society based on former human norms. Over time, this society developed its own class stratification, based around the four broad types of robots:

• Social: Roughly-humanoid, although still distinctively robotic. Previously used as personal companions, retail workers, and social assistants (chefs, butlers, secretaries, etc). The most common type of robot, found everywhere in infinite variety.
• Industrial: Sometimes humanoid, sometimes not. Still sentient. Construction, industrial manufacture, and the like. Does much the same in the new world.
• Recycled: Robots who have cannibalized other robots for parts to survive past their decommission date. Pariahs. Tend to lurk in the abandoned places; garbage dumps, culverts, old factories. Perform the "undesirable" jobs.
• Protoype: Robots which, for whatever reason, are singular. That is, they never entered mass-production, and their schematics are not saved to The Registry. Relentlessly hunted.

Seeth's most distinctive feature is his head, which is described by some who have met him as "a fishbowl full of eyeballs". It is made of an unknown transparent alloy which seems unbreakable, containing a mostly-clear nanofluid and four eyeballs.

Each eyeball is located on the end of a cable stalk. When closed, they appear pure white; when opened, they have a black sclera and a single solid-colored iris in one of the four primary colors red, green, blue, and yellow. Each color corresponds to some element of "reality" that Seeth can observe. The more the eyes are open, the more facets of the "thing" he sees. Opening more than one is mentally taxing, and opening all four is very rare.

• Red: Energy, mainly light. This eye functions much like a human eye does, except it works across the entire known electromagnetic spectrum. This is the eye that is usually open.
• Green: Matter. Molecular composition and chemistry mainly, but also "material forces" such as gravity.
• Blue: Ephemeral. Best described as a near-telepathic understanding of a thing's mind and emotions. Can also sense spiritual concentration, such as in objects holy to particular faiths or areas of rituals. Whatever cannot be explained.
• Yellow: Time, or the 4th Euclidean dimension. Allows Seeth to see a representation of a thing's history as a sort of 4-dimensional object. Also allows him to see its future as such, but it's very disorienting as the eye sees all possible futures. A narrowed pupil means the eye is being used to see the past, a dilated pupil means the eye is attempting to divine the future.

Seeth cannot speak normally, and instead uses his arms to perform a complicated and personally-derived form of sign language. In a pinch he can use a modified speaker in his neck to talk, but this is rare.
