While not much is known about the origin of Wishing Star Ponies, what we do know is that Stardust and their family are where things began. Stardust is gender neutral/genderfluid and will appear in any forme that makes you feel the most comfortable and safe, but will still have a galactic look to them with stardust swirling around their body.

While Stardust is mostly gender neutral/genderfluid, they mostly appear in a feminine Alicorn forme similar to Celestia in order to comfort ponies so that Stardust can be trusted. However, these days they mostly stay up in The Silver Heavens with their family while wishes are handled by fellow Wishing Star Alicorns.
