If I give you one of my designs, or you purchase it... It's all yours, you own the character, however...
You can resell/retrade/regift for no more than you got them, unless they have more art n stuff! (Unless they were free, which this doesn't really apply)
You can redesign but not so much that they're unrecognizable.
You can literally do whatever you want to them, stories, etc I don't mind!
