Both of Arani's parents were Life Domain Clerics of Lathander, so Arani is accustomed to having her wounds healed. When she was young her parents wanted her to be a cleric, but she wanted more adventure. They were the ones who convinced her to make an Oath of Redemption. Arani claims she tried to fight the Owlbear because it sounds cooler than the reality, which is that she tried hugging it because it was so cute. While recovering from her injuries at a monestary of Selune, Arani meets and falls in love with a cleric named Della Lune.
