Moonfire

Moonfire was born the only kit to the queen Goldwing, and a mysterious rogue named Eclipse. The pair had met in secret only a few times before Goldwing learned she was expecting. It was the same night that Eclipse vanished, melting into the shadows, leaving the words "fire rises in the blood of the moon" to dance in the wind. The queen went into labor during a total lunar eclipse (what a coincidence), the moon glowing red. The kit was named for the moon. She excelled in her training. While her mother was known for her speed and swiftness in the chase and the hunt, it seemed as though Moonpaw took after the father the clan had never met. She was fierce and strong in battle. She earned her warrior name the night of a full moon. Dense clouds covered the sky, blotting out the light of the moon and stars, and the cats wondered if the gathering would even occur. A neighboring clan ambushed the party on their way to the meeting place, resulting in a brutal fight. During the fray, the clouds broke open. Light from the moon streamed onto Moonpaw's pelt, and the mark on her face lit up like a blaze of fire. The battle stopped, the aggressors scattered, and Moonpaw's clan collected themselves before proceeding to the gathering. Here, her leader reported the outrage of one clan attacking another on the night of the full moon, declared war, and gave Moonfire her warrior name before the three gathered clans.
