Pye grew up in a village that she doesn’t wish to speak the name of. Her parents moved there, wishing to grow a new life; because she was so young when she moved, she has no memory of other family members, and paired with her parents' secrecy, believes many questions will be left unanswered.

As Pye grew, so did her powers. Reaching out to her parents brought no comfort or support, with both figures ignoring the growing ‘problem’; because of this Pye attempted to suppress what was growing inside her (which, in retrospect, was a bad idea lol). One day, her stress overwhelmed her, leading to a burst of powerful magic that emerged around her; because the village was not made to be fire-proof, this had disastrous effects. The fire spread quickly, hopping from house to house, all Pye could do was stare in disbelief at the destruction she had caused.

She had a choice: help the village and take the blame, or run. A part of her wanted to stay, but as she stood there in her brief moments of panic, the chorus of screams from the villagers she once-considered friends overlapped, leaving no room for structured thought. And so, she ran into the night, illuminated only by her blazing mistake. The village was consumed in an instant, and rumors spread quickly of who or what could have caused such an event.

She fled to the neighboring town of Luskan. She held the guilt and shame of what she had done upon her, and wanting to help, she worked upon a pirate ship titled ‘The Dark Duchess’. The crew were nice to her, not asking any questions, and were more than willing to trade a place to sleep and food for a deck-hand.

To pass the time, Pye will journal her thoughts and actions, most of which in the current day have been mundane. Although, one entry sticks out as something she can never revisit:

“I served aboard Dark Duchess, a pirate ship from the city of Luskan. After the vessel got stuck in the ice, everyone but the captain abandoned the vessel and fled to Ten-Towns. We got lost in a blizzard along the way. I was the only one who made it, and only by-” The message stops off there, as not even she wishes to admit the horrors that occurred. “The ship and its treasure are still out there.”

Pye embraced the snowy wastelands, finding it much easier to control the ‘blazing flames’ under the wintery conditions. She floated from town to village, but her guilt and shame often overwhelmed her. Her response was to become a recluse, building a small cabin isolated in the nearby mountains, only coming into town for necessities. It was within these years that she was allowed to ‘unpack’ her many years of trauma. Although she has come to understand her actions, some part of her holds onto what ‘could have been done’, and this has pushed her into a life of adventure.

She now resides in Bryn Shander, where she has begun to do ‘odd jobs’ here and there. Her only ‘friends’ are the inn-keeper, who is too talkative for her liking, and the bar-keep downstairs who will let her sit in silence during the night and journal her thoughts.
