Imperia is a soldier, willing to immerse himself absolutely into an assignment. He has gone to great, unimaginable and permanent lengths to fulfill a task and reach his goal, both in devotion to his division, and his desire for perfection. He takes his role as an undercover agent very seriously, seeing his work as doing better in the world, especially as someone who came from nothing. Given how much he has achieved in his life, some might consider Imperia arrogant, but this confidence is what has kept him alive, and continues to do so even in the most volatile environments. His level-headedness and his attention to detail allows him to act differently to fit the role he's given, whether that's as a brutish miner, a dignified politician, or a flirtatious escort. At times, as a result, it can be difficult to discern when one is seeing the true Imperia, or just what he wants you to see.

History:

Imperia's earliest memories are of fire. He was only a young child when the Imperata invaded his home planet, claiming dominion over the D'jott--an otherwise peaceful species. It was an effortless invasion, given the Imperata's far superior artillery and technology, and the D'jott were swiftly reduced to second-class citizens, forced into a modern age they did not understand. With his parents killed in the mayhem, Imperia was one of many orphaned young to be rounded up and distributed to various Imperata colonies for indoctrination and cheap labor. He was raised by handlers that led him to believe his place was in the dirt, that the Imperata were a superior, god-like race to be worshiped and revered. Imperia became little more than a janitor at an Imperata military outpost.

In his later 'teens', Imperia was approached by a man he would later come to know as Six, who sought information on the Imperata Colonel that Imperia worked under. Indoctrinated and brainwashed, Imperia refused. It took Six several months of gentle de-programming, visiting the young D'jott in secret whenever possible. Over time, Imperia began to realize the degrading state of his life, the lies he'd been raised to believe, and the almost father-like respect he'd come to develop toward Six. He agreed to help him and soon became Six's personal contact from within the Imperata outpost. He gathered information, sabotaged key security protocals, and before too long provided the intel necessary for Six and his division to overtake the outpost, capturing the Colonel who was wanted for intergalactic war crimes. With the outpost dissolved, Six offered Imperia a new home.

While initially Six served as more of an adopted father to Imperia, the D'jott wanted to be more than his ward. He wanted to join his division, to aid him again, and Six accepted. Imperia was trained extensively, honed into the malleable ghost one needed to be to go undercover. Lastly, his old identity was buried, and he was asked to claim a new one. The young D'jott chose 'Imperia', symbolizing his desire to conquer and destroy the Imperata empire that had opressed him and his people for years.

Imperia went on to accomplish countless assignments, integrating into the most diverse of environments. He became one of the division's top agents, respected by his peers, and by those beyond the division who knew of him only as a faceless ghost. Most recently, Imperia took on an extended asignment as a high-end escort, targeting a nearly untouchable official and one of his clients.

Important Notes:

  • It was during an asignment in an illegal drug-distribution ring that Imperia injected himself with permanent physiologically altering substances that increased his physique's broadness and build. Prior to this asignment, he was far more lithe like most D'jott.
  • He is a skilled combatant, trained in hand-to-hand techniques, weaponry, surveillance, and coordination.
  • As an escort, the majority of his client list are fake identities orchestrated by his division. However, he does have a handful of actual clients for the sake of authenticity, alongside his target. He is a 'high end' companion, with prices and a reputation to match.
  • He has somewhat of an inferiority complex, due to the years of degrading indoctrination from the Imperata. This inner feeling of inadequacy is what often fuels his desire for perfection; always striving to be the best at whatever it is he does--whether its his role as an agent, or whatever cover he's playing.

Species Details:

  • D'jott eat only one thing--the wood and by-product of the Jurum tree native to his home planet. The Jurum wood, leaves, fruit, and sap are now more widely available throughout the galaxies due to their popular flavors, allowing Imperia and D'jott easier access. Attempting to eat anything else will make any D'jott sick to varying degrees depending on the food ingested. Many things are also toxic, particularly meat and alcohol.
  • Their tentacles are highly sensitive membranes, which absorb and emit vibrations, and sense ambient temperatures, of their surroundings to 'see'. This allows for very acute vision, however they cannot discern color or images on 2-dimensional surfaces. For communication purposes (or those that are D'jott-friendly), certain chemicals are laced into ink or paint that allow a D'jott to 'see' them once it is dried.
  • Small glands at the back of their neck are their source of smell, and are also very sensitive to touch; a definite erogoneous zone.
  • Their maws open vertically, from the top of the head, to their clavicle. They have two tongues and rows of tiny, almost nub-like teeth that can retract into the tissue of their throats, allowing them to grind down the wood they ingest.
  • Their tentacles can split in half, opening into smaller mouths with the same tiny, retractable teeth. These are used primarily for feeding, breaking wood and digging into Jurum trees, or drinking sap. However, tentacles can also be split and stretched out to intimidate, particularly when combined with an opened maw. Ironically, the majority of D'jott are passive creatures with limited offensive abilities.
  • D'jott are given body tattoos by the Imperata to better distinguish them from one another. These are permanent tattoos, however those D'jott not under Imperata reign, or who have escaped, have often either been spared from this branding, or had them removed.
