Excited blurb while I collect my thoughts:
True name is Dianthe (meaning flower of the gods). As the ages passed and things became modern she underwent a few name changes but now goes by Danica in the 21st century to be more 'trendy'.
Danica has truly embraced the times she lives in and runs a popular social media account/blog rating and reviewing horror movies, tv shows, and novels (she's living my dream right there, title pending: Ghoulish Reviews/Ghoul Reviews?)
Vampires are so advanced at blending in by now they probably have food services set up for blood delivery and you simply pay to get your weeks supply without having to go out and hunt for your own meals anymore (which is considered, depending upon the vampire, to be either barbaric or just old school)
Dianthe was turned in the mid to late1600s. She does not like to think/dwell upon the past and recounts the norms of the time to be 'embarrassing' to her. She remembers clearly how poorly frowned upon 'witchcraft' and the practicing of Wicca was and finds it amazing now how it has evolved and changed, and is even acceptable to a degree in modern society. What used to be enough to get you hung from a tree is now, at most, quirky and apparently praised in small communities, all accessable with a computer that fits neatly within the palm of your hand.
As the years go on less and less are people turned into vampires, making their community smaller than it already was. They prefer to be solitary and do not stay together in makeshift family units for safety. But Danica does keep up with a coven of witches (mostly human) that are oblivious to the fact that she is a creature of the night.
