Joyce is a fair skinned boy with a chubby and short build. His eyes are a pale blue and his hair is salmon pink (Melon according to coolors.co) which is messily tied back into a high ponytail. He has silver framed circular perscription glasses.
His outfit consists of a white dress shirt with a dark desaturated blue tie, and an oversized cream coloured jacket that hangs off one shoulder. Below that he has plaid blue pants and brown dress shoes with white ankle high socks.
Being a recent highschool graduate, Joyce has an optimistic view of the world, often believing the best in everyone he meets. He also holds those older than him in high respect simply because of their seniority. He also believes that people only befriend him for his ability and values himself less than it.
Joyce is easily flustered when receiving any sort of praise or compliment and blushes madly when someone he finds attractive smiles at him. To try and avoid embarrassment from this habit of his, he avoids looking people in the eyes when speaking to them unless necessary.
Joyce also has a habit of complaining about small problems, like being hungry or cold, though he will never voice these complaints out loud.
He is rarely seen in battle due to his low constitution and the major amount of focus his ability requires. But on the off chance he finds himself confronted, he’s too cowardly to even try to attack. His first instinct would be to surrender to avoid getting hurt, the same applies to torture, even though he would greatly regret it later.
Joyce grew up in Dublin Ireland with his loving parents as an only child. His family had been sliding into poverty over the years leaving his parents to both take up multiple jobs. Joyce was often left alone because of this and developed an interest in books, reading the few his parents had bought before.
At age 9 Joyce had discovered his ability, accidentally creating a simple pen while he was searching for one. He immediately started to test it out more, creating hundreds of pens over the course of a day. His parents were surprised to see this but soon realized that Joyce’s ability might be able to earn them some money. So over the years they helped Joyce hone his ability, creating vast amounts of stationary and other small trinkets. The family opened up a business selling items Joyce created with his ability. They were able to make enough money to avoid poverty, but at the cost of Joyce’s wellbeing.
Ulysses, (Kanji, Rōmaji) allows Joyce to create anything as long as he knows what exactly it looks/looked like. He must remain completely focused during the process and he cannot create anything with sentience.
If interrupted the creation process will stop leaving the item in whatever state it was currently in. (For example if Joyce were making a ham sandwich and he got interrupted when he only made the bread, the process would stop and he would be left with just 2 slices of bread and no ham.)
Bigger and more complex creations require more time and focus to create.
Joyce's ability will still work even if he doesn't know how an object functions, the object created via his ability will simply not have the same functions. Ex: A gun that is unable to shoot but is identical to a real gun.
