Lily was originally created to be used as a bioweapon, and spent the first few years of her life being studied in a lab. Her condition became increasingly unstable because of the isolation, and eventually a containment protocol failed and she escaped, killing many of the researchers with her powers in the process. One of the survivors, a researcher from another department named Alisha, found her and took her home before the company was able to deal with her. Alisha and her wife ended up adopting her and trying to raise her while hiding her origins. Though the familial relationship was originally tense, over time Lily grew to trust her new mothers and grew up a relatively normal kid.
Because of her upbringing, Lily is shy and overly cautious around new people. She generally prefers to be quiet and keep to her own thoughts. Her emotional state can be volatile however, and when her emotions show it's usually in a meltdown. Once she gets close to someone she acts more like a regular kid her age. She opens up a lot more and can ramble about her interests for hours. She's clingy to those she loves.
