Origin
The only records of Kite there were is from a lab. Kite was taken in when they were around 8, going by the number #190. They stayed in the lab until they escaped at 13. During that time, they were experimenting with fusing animal parts to humans. With Kite, it was an artificially enlargened parts of a moth. They started with the antennae, attaching them to Kite's head. Afterwards, they observed the antennae's grown with Kite for years while the wings were still being made. Kite's cognitive growth seemed to be relatively normal. Kite was given strategic puzzles during that time and Kite eventually grew to love solving them.
The lead scientist grew a liking to Kite, watching them grow. They knew the company wouldn't allow them to get close to the subjects though. Kite liked the lead scientist as well and wanted to know more about them. The lead scientist barely gave them information on themselves at first though. But at night the lead scientist sneaks inside to give Kite a snack from the outside, along with a few stories. The two bonded and Kite ended up being very attached since that was their only close connection.
At 13, the wings were complete and Kite was ready to get them attatched. During the surgery though a breakout occurred and Kite was ripped from their operating chamber. She desperately looked for the lead scientist, but they were gone. Using this chance to escape to the outside though, they left the building and escaped outside.
Backstory
Kite found themselves walking around in a city, unsure what to do. He walked in a few stores, stole some new clothes they thought were cool and then crafted themselves a bandana using a fabric she stole. He then noticed a place where people were creating things. Kite walked around, complimenting people on their works. He then saw Nick, and started to compliment his work. Nick was surprised and started to talk to Kite. They both shared eachother's interest in creating and then started to share stories. The two became quick friends. A few months later, Kite met Axis whilst they were visiting Axis's usual spots. Axis was a bit wary at first, but they got to know eachother well. They exchanged a lot of stories with eachother and even sparred a bit, despite Kite not being much of a fighter. Kite introduced Axis to Nick later on, and the trio became very close. Axis then introduced Ori to the group. Kite was interested in Ori's hobby in Origami and stargazing. The two bonded over their common interests.
Kite spent most of their time napping in parks and wandering when they weren't with the group, but after Axis's seeks help from Nick about needing a place to stay, Kite also moves in with Axis. Ori moves in later. Ori gifts Kite their own paper hat on their birthday, and Kite gives Ori their own scarf when it was their birthday. Kite gives Axis a scarf as well, despite Axis insisting she didn't need one. (Kite thought it'd suit the look.)
One day, the trio was playing a puzzle game. They split up to find clues. Kite walked around, searching for clues before a portal opened up in front of them. It was nothing like they'd ever seen before. It almost seemed like reality was ripping open itself... Kite was suddenly pulled into it and the portal closed itself immediately after.
Present
Kite's memories were erased during the transition, but they woke up in an empty field. They hardly remembered their past, the only recent memory is that their family abandoned them here. A small blue cat approached them with curious orange eyes. Kite was confused and was startled when they could understand the cat.
The cat introduced themselves as Viixie, and they were their guardian companion. That didn't make any sense, why would anyone send a guardian cat to her? Kite reluctantly went with it anyways. He had nothing to guide them with. The cat simply observed Kite at first whilst they explored the world around them but over time Kite got to know them better and where they were from.
The two became best friends and Kite found themselves living in the top of a large tree. The sky as visible above them, which Kite loved. They had a bit of deja-vu from looking at the night sky. Observing every star and it's placement. A few years went by. Viixie told Kite the truth about themself. Viixie was a god, and could jump from universe to universe. The world they were in was a place they made specifically for Kite. Plentiful, but finite. Viixie showed Kite how to use their own power. Kite was baffled by this news. The two sat down for a while, Kite asking questions and Viixie answering all of them. When they were done, Kite wanted to explore with Viixie. The two explored the multiverse since then, the past left forgotten.
