Leslie was born in the 8th Era, year 94, and spent most of her childhood being raised by her abusive grandmother. As soon as her older brother, Lucas, was old enough to take care of both of them, they moved to a small apartment and Leslie's magical prowess earned her a scholarship to a prestigious magic school not too far away. She gets bullied relentlessly for being the "scholarship kid" at a school of rich entitled brats, and eventually she snaps and almost kills another student in a fit of rage. She was sent to a run down public school for "problem children", where she met her current best friend, a galik boy named Connor. The two of them were planning to crash the end of year party at their school, and both were extremely excited for it, when Leslie decides to go hiking with her brother over spring break. While hiking, she stumbles upon an old decrepit rune circle, and after accidentally falling inside the circle, she blacks out.

When she wakes up, Leslie finds herself in some old ruins in the middle of the desert, with a strange man checking her pulse. She discovers that she's been transported to the 4th Era, almost 8,000 years in the past. After speaking with the strange galik and his dwarf companion, the two of them agree to help her find her way out of the desert, and eventually they decide to help her find a way back to her own time as well. The two men take her into their care and teach her the ins and outs of mercenary work, and now she travels the land with them, chasing leads and trying to find some way back home.

Delvon A young galik warrior eager to help Leslie, as she knows a lot about magic and he wants to learn how to use his own powers.

Darval A dwarven man who begrudgingly agrees to help Leslie, only giving in when Delvon convinces him that she could be helpful with magic. He's a lot less approachable than Delvon, and usually spends his time avoiding Leslie and speaking to Delvon in Kett (a dwarven language) or the galik tongue, both languages that Leslie doesn't know. Delvon swears he's a sweet man, but he really doesn't seem it.

Rochil A galik warrior, the brother of Delvon, who loathes Leslie from the moment they meet her. Leslie's not sure why there's animosity between the two of them, but Delvon swears the two of them will be fast friends once Rochil warms up to her.
