Liu is a young shifter that’s grew up in a shifter camp outside Baldur’s Gate. His childhood was filled with isolation and shame. Physically, he presents many more animalistic features that any shifter should. His shifting is violent and painful. He grew up with few friends outside his twin sister and the odd shifter who didn’t care for the social hierarchy. When attempting his coming of age ritual to solidify his adulthood, something went horribly wrong. Someone was hurt and Liu was banished from the camp. He lived alone in the woods for a period of time before being called to Baldur’s gate by a divine force .

He was a devoted cleric of Selune for years before being told she never liked him. The Dream Weaver had been supplying him magic, and had been disguised as Selune. Liu himself is cursed with a curse given to his family by Selune to punish his father.
