"I was thinking about Ecdysis in the shower, like what kind of powers he would have (in addition to, yknow, spider stuff) and my brain latched onto... light? light power? afaik there's no myths or scientific sources, but I personally have seen spiders associated with the sun, or sunshine. There's golden silk (which belongs to another orb weaver!) which could be like a "thread" of light. or i can just make this fucker glow in the dark, who give a shit"

Phoenix Phinnegan, aka Ecdysis, is a semi-standard Spider-Guy? He got bit by a Special Spider™, got powers, goes around helping people, lost an uncle, normal stuff. As a hero, Ecdysis has a fighting style focused on evading and confusing his enemy, though this can be difficult, since Ecdysis glows in certain lighting or circumstances. The battle usually ends up with Ecdysis ensnaring the villain with his silk, as spiders are want to do, and then spending way to long overthinking what to do, and police show up on the scene long before he makes a decision. No time to mingle with cops, though; Ecdysis has to keep moving. As a person, Phoenix attends college half the time, and works on commission the other half. Retail wasn't an option for him, as leaving his shift to fight crime would either get him exposed or fired. "Phoenix" isn't his legal name, nor is "Phinnegan" his legal last name, but it's one that's stuck with him since middle school, and he's not too keen on changing it up now.
