Story: Originally from the desert, Avani studied in the Akademiya for several years. As Spantamad scholar, her studies mostly centered on alchemy, specifically the brewing of potions. She had already passed one thesis, and was close to completing her second and becoming a Dastur when her path crosses with a man not from Sumeru. He was warrior who claimed himself just to be a traveler and sellsword. But Avani knew of true origins, as the stars in his eyes gave it all away. Yet, she chose not to say anything knowing very well he was trying to keep his identity a secret. The two grew closer eventually marrying in secret and having a child. Knowing very well that the Akademiya would take an "interest" in both her husband and child, Avani left it, cutting off all contact she could. And while she had narrowly avoided run ins with the matra and others at some points, the Akademiya became the least of her worries.

Time had passed and her child grew. Yet this time, it was her husband's past that came back to haunt him. Creatures of the abyss began chasing after her family, calling her husband a traitor and a deserter. And her child "the inheritor of the Alberich legacy". She didn't understand, yet recieved no explanation from anyone, as her husband didn't know what was going on either, and the enemies refused to explain to a "Celestial puppet". After far too many close calls, one of which nearly took her child, Avani had enough. In a last stand, Avani sacrificed herself to protect her family from the Abyss, not only destroying the creatures chasing them but allowing her husband and son to escape.

Personality: Despite being a scholar and researcher, Avani's eagerness to know more about her world manifests as both impatience and a distaste for restictions. She is well aware that there are rules to follow and processes to be done, but always questions them, curious about the "why" of her world more than anything else. Thus, she can come off as a bit pushy and abrasive to people. However, that abrasiveness also manifests in a positive way as she is deeply protective of those she cherishes. She often puts her own needs and well being aside for them.
