ah yes, one of my first ocs and he finally (finally) got a real name other than the vague title I gave him in highschool, 'snow lily'

I came up with him during a period of time when I was a little obsessed with kimonos, (in all fairness, they are beautiful.) around when I started watching anime, particularly Kamisama Kiss which had some lovely art man. Anyway, the original plan was for him to be Japanese and half yokai, but I scraped that a long time ago, realizing I was pretty out of my depth writing someone living in a country I didn't know enough about. I switched to him being half fae and Welsh. and for clarity sake, no, Tolkien did not invent the name, it's Welsh, just spelled a tad different.   I ended up working in the similar-but-not-quite look of his clothes as his mother's way of trying to copy the fae's style of dress. After his dad disappeared, she tried to recreate aspects of fae culture and integrate it into her sons' lives. She didn't have a very good reference for how the fae dressed, but it is similar enough to traditional Japanese clothing, leading her to use it as a base. 

 that's all i guess, i'm not entirely pleased with his design so it may change sooner or later
