Brooke is a 20 year old who goes missing along with a bus group tour while passing by the town of Silent Hill.
When she comes to, Brooke is haunted by monsters personifying the loss, grief and immense guilt she's went through in the last year she studied abroad. Soon she's ensnared in a nightmarish hide and seek game as she searches for a way out of Silent Hill the events of which force her to question her morality, memory and the lengths she'd go to for others.
Ultimately Brooke spends the majority of her time evading the dark, and sometimes unseen monsters as she scrambles through tests of the mind, endurance and solving bloodstained letters, as well as counting the ever present marks on walls that signify the amount of people still alive.
