As the human incarnation of the thinking half of the white stag, Anja possesses the ability to telepathically communicate unspoken thoughts into others' minds and to simultaneously read thoughts they have generated themselves. While her twin brother Iisakki, the feeling half of the white stag, may only feel others' emotions and influence them by conventional means such as interacting with them, Anja has the power to interrupt others' trains of thought and directly implant ideas into their heads as if they were truly their own thoughts in the first place. This extraordinary power does not come without its difficulties. Anja has the tendency to be very manipulative, though often unintentionally. She frequently finds herself exerting control over others' thoughts in a way that is favorable to herself. She has the best intentions of allowing those around her to think and feel for themselves, but knows her way around a mind like around her own home, and can even control others' thoughts without giving much energy or thought to it herself. When Anja finds herself unconsciously influencing others' thoughts for her own benefit, she will intentionally distance herself from them for a long period of time until she feels that she is able to control her powers better. For this reason, Anja sometimes appears to be closed off to others. While she prefers socialization over isolation, she must choose the latter at times to avoid using her power maliciously.

Though Anja takes great care to ensure she does not use her power inappropriately, she does enjoy training herself to strengthen it. She will often exercise her abilities by trying to feel the thoughts of particularly reserved or intelligent-seeming people. Though she is not easily baffled, she is occasionally disturbed by others' thoughts. These inner ramblings are often very personal, raw, and monitored only by the thinker, and for this reason they are often hateful, dirty, or envious. Hearing these thoughts echoed in her own mind can be exhausting, and sometimes she must withdraw herself from others to avoid encountering too many negative thoughts. Long-term exposure to negative thoughts give Anja intense migraine headaches that can take days to recover from. Because of the effects these negative vibes have on her mind and body, Anja tries to avoid negative-minded people and people who have recently gone through tragedies, as they tend to ruminate on these thoughts. However, Anja will withstand these thoughts for her friends when they are going through difficult times as she does not want to appear to shut down whenever someone she cares about needs her most. Anja has helped friends in the past who are reminiscing about breakups, trauma, or anxiety - though these thoughts are painful to her - and will sometimes introduce unrelated thoughts into their minds to try to break up the negativity.

The thoughts that Anja introduces into others' heads are not emotionally charged; they are neutral, bland statements or topics that the thinker may attach their own emotion to. For this reason, Anja cannot really sway anyone's opinions about things; she can only make certain things stick out to them more or carry more importance. She views her power as something that requires taking a lot of responsibility, and tries her best to use it not only to her own benefit, but for the benefit of others. Because she takes a humanitarian approach to others, she often gets into physical and verbal altercations with her brother Iisakki. He engages in more malicious behavior towards others, despite being the empathetic half, which bothers Anja deeply. Ironically, though Iisakki has a unique ability to feel others' emotions, Anja is much more caring and understands others better.

Anja really enjoys eating meats of all sorts and considers herself an epicure of all meats, both conventional and exotic. She also takes a bit of a sadistic attitude towards Iisakki, delighting in bothering him as much as possible. Iisakki enjoys the company of all animals, particularly smaller creatures such as rabbits, and Anja will sometimes pester him by flaunting the tasty meats she eats. Iisakki is able to feel the residual emotions of the animals just before death - often terror or pain - and while Anja does not particularly enjoy others' suffering, Iisakki is the rare exception. Even so, he is blood - and the other half to her spirit - and thus she maintains a relationship with him for better or for worse.
