Their name is Sylk, they use they/them pronouns and are nonbinary, and they are a variant of the superhero Spider-Man. Random attacks through the city, nobody can figure out who or what is doing it. It's always on the news, there's lots of theories about what could be happening, people talking about ghosts, remote bombs, terrorism, mass hesteria. Vic is just a regular person, working as an intern at Alchemax, working their way to higher positions. When they get bit, they're able to sense things that seemingly aren't there. They brush it off as anxiety, theyre even tempted to get tested and medicated, but either they don't, or the pills don't do anything. They get caught up in one of the attacks, and they point and yell that they saw what did it. "There it goes, in that alley!" A few officers run in that direction but find nothing and get mad at Vic. Vic is frustrated, swears that they saw the thing responsible for the attack. They start to discover their abilities, being able to shoot webs and detect danger. They're hyper aware of their surroundings, becoming overstimulated and irritable because they notice everything in a room. During another attack, they decide to throw on a jack o lantern costume and attack the phantom. They can't exactly see it but they can tell where it is (visualized by a blue VHS silhouette thing). After a sloppy battle, they're able to defeat it and stop the attacks. The blood moon goes back to normal. Vic is deaf in one ear Sylk cannot kill because their body would shut down and they'd throw up. It even takes them a while to be remotely comfortable with beating anyone up because they just can't stand hurting people. This is amplified by the fact that they make a mistake once and hurt someone innocent, which makes them feel so guilty it takes them a while to trust their own judgement again. Generally Sylk is not the brightest? They aren't stupid by any means, but they aren't nearly as clever as Spider-Man usually is. They'd be about on par with the audience's intelligence. They can certainly try risky moves, like trying to eyeball some physics stuff, but if they pull it off they'd be pretty surprised with them self and maybe even brag.  Sylk does really like to help people and wants to be liked, but there are some people they choose to be disliked by and will even sabotage their reputation with that person, only to be upset when that person shows distain towards them (daddy issues I guess).  It takes them a while to overcome this social issue, and they eventually try to be more selfless when it comes to being liked vs helping people. They still want to seem cool, but they aren't going to not help someone just because that person dislikes them. They'll do little things to make someone's day but never admit that's what they're doing, but also they'll do little things that are selfish if they figure the person is having a decent day. Basically they determine someone's mood and will equalize it to a net neutral cause they're a stinker. Perhaps they have a slight obsession with micromanaging how other people perceive them. They don't want to come across as a mushy selfless person, but also don't want to be seen as mean or greedy, so they subconsciously shift personality to accommodate. Oh I'm too nice? I'm making fun of you. I'm too mean? I'm so sorry, I actually really want to hang out with you. Their first few battles were with ghosts and shit. I'm still not 100% sure how they see ghosts but whatever.
