BACKSTORY
Finley grew up on Andros in a fairly well of family. Despite this xe struggled in xier early years.
Finleys grandparents, Lua and Homados had betrayed the citizens of Andros years ago, shortly after Layla was appointed Queen. They tried to overthrow her and take the throne for themselves. This lead to Finleys family falling out of grace with the townspeople.
Layla didn't want to hold this family accountable for something they didn't do. She offered Finley a place at one of the Fairy Academies of Andros, to hone their magic. Whenever xe attempted to transform it didn't work or worked only partially. This lead to Finley discovering that xe was part witch and xe needed to get in touch with their witch magic.
For a while this worked, Finleys first transformation was Harmonix. Xe managed to transform fully.
A few years later Lua and Homados suddenly returned. They hadn't changed and Finley soon found out they made themselves age slower. Finley confronted them and was made an offer to join them. Xe refused.
