Pearl

Arctic

Pearl was born in the chilled arctic of the Snowdrift Summit, on the far end of the Isles. They lived at the top of the mountains, where the snow fluffed up and flourished and the winds whispered stories of ancient magic. She was raised with her kin, parents well-respected of the arctic foxes.

From a young age, Pearl had an odd interest for the ethereal. The Northern Lights danced in her gleam and she adopted a pearlescent glow when under them. This is what gave her her name Pearl.

As she grew older she developed a deep connection to the aurora, and the winter spirits tought her to harmonize with the world around her.

One night, a blizzard overcame the Arctic, threatening to tear apart the community. Pearl ran to seek help from the winter spirits, and she summoned the magic of the lights to protect her kin.

The outbreak of the Aurora Borealis peaked interest in many travelers of the Isles, but only few made it to the peak. When a certain student, Hikaru, made it to the top, the she stayed away form the foxes as usual. However, she had a cat with her. The cat seemed particularly drawn to her as well, and they met a fateful night when Pearl was strolling through the snow.

Eventually they began to tussle together, and they trotted through the snow as she showed the cat, in which she learned was named Kaorii, around Snowdrift Summit.

Lights

Over the next few days the two would sneak away to bound through the snow together. However, when Hikaru wanted to return back to the city, Kaorii put up a fight. Hikaru, seeing her and Pearl together, let her stay.

Pearl, being the more or less leader of the fox pact, brought her in as a mate and the two led their lives together.

A year later, the two had heard news of a cat that possessed magic similar to Pearl. She and Kaorii decided to take it into their own hands and visit, so they travelled into the city and through the forests to get to a cat named Raven.

When they got there, they found out Raven could gift forms and speech to those who desired it. She offered it to Kaorii and Pearl, and the two accepted.

They returned to the arctic as anthro fox and cats, and the two built up a small cottage in the mountain tops.

Sometimes they'd return to Raven with delicacies of the arctic, and they met others of the Isles, including the princess. They became well known in the town for Pearl's bringing of the lights, often for special occasions.
