F ormer scourge of the sea, Penny Krabs née Kashalot was once a prolific pirate known as Penny the Dreadful. Until, of course, she met her future husband. While her crew's defeat at the claws of a mere naval chef was unexpected, she found herself charmed by his abillities. And even more, intrigued by the fact that he allowed her to escape captivity against the Naval code.

The two wouldn't meet again until years later, after he'd abandoned the Navy for piracy much like herself. One way or another, the two would eventually find themselves on the same crew. But as the plunders of piracy decreased, the two found themselves deciding it was time to settle down in Bikini Bottom.

Penny Krabs is my interpretation of the concept of Pearl's mother, mentioned to have existed at one point but never seen and no longer part of her family's life. Her character is based on the Captain from Pull up a Barrel. The idea behind this concept is that while the Captain was imagined as a squirrel by SpongeBob as Mr. Krabs told his story, she could have been an aquatic mammal in reality.

As such, the character is reimagined as a sperm whale who could have possibly become Mr. Krabs' wife and the mother of Pearl. Since this is such a huge deviation from the source material, I feel she qualifies as an OC due to how little canonical basis there is to any idea behind Penny's existence as I've thought of it.
