As a Rtawahist scholar, Nuray focuses on astrology - more specifically, Judicial Astrology, the study of how astrology can predict future events. At first glance, she appears to be similar to many other scholars in her ranks, but look closer, and you may find that her innocent face hides many secrets. 

She is commonly known to be a stellar student and is universally loved by her teachers — and yet, truthfully, she does not care for them. She does not care for anyone 'in charge', actually. Whether that be the Matra, the Sages, or even Celestia themselves, she believes their rules are nonsense. 

Yet, ever since before her earliest memories, she has been raised and taken care for by none other than the illustrious Starkeeper (the  Goddess of Stars) — a prominent figure in Celestia. The Starkeeper assists Nuray because of a quite simple reason: Nuray’s “fate”, at least as she’s told, is to take the role of Starkeeper after the current one becomes too weak to keep Teyvat safe and secure. She must leave her life behind for the sake of the people in charge of her world — the people whose rules she has vehemently despised since she knew what the word "rules" meant.  

She can’t help but think: “Who do they think they are? I've done nothing but despise them since the day I learned of their existence." Regardless, she tries her hardest not to dwell on the future and live the simple yet temporary life she was blessed with. 

Joy, hope, and love. These are some things that she can only wish were constants. However, these things have never been permanent, so the Starchild has learned to enjoy her last few years as a regular girl.
