Raines is fairly fit, as one cannot be weak and slow when they fight vampires for a living. They're at least strong enough to haul around the coffin on their back with little trouble. They are certainly still mortal, though they have taken a few extra measures to assist in their combat with the undead, and they are to an extent hardier than the average human.

They are having a...slightly more difficult time adjusting to an English diet than they expected. There are benefits, of course, like scones and tea times, but the horror of beans on their breakfast has urged them into once more leaning to cook for themselves, rather than relying on fast food more often than not.

Considering their prey mostly stalks the night, Raines has become accustomed to sleeping with the sun and rising with the moon. All-nighters are frequent, and it is unlikely to find them awake during the day of their own volition, early dawn adventuring notwithstanding. This makes them an unfavorable bedmate of anyone other than vampires, along with the fact that they tend to toss and turn in their sleep with a near violent fervor.

Raines is loathe to admit it, but one does need to be in good physical health to fight monsters. They keep themselves to a (somewhat) strict exercise routine, though they also use any excuse to skip a day and just lounge around. They get the most fun out of practical exercises rather than standing around in a gym, so they've taken to parkour, mostly ironically.

Everything is fine [smiling thru the tears emoji]. Raines is, at their core, an extremely isolated person, partially because it's hard to forge close relations when traveling around hunting monsters for the majority of your life. Most won't believe you, and those that do, more often than not, become collateral damage. So they elect to stay isolated, keeping others at a distance with their humor. Their mental health has suffered considerably as a result, but they do their best to ignore those kinds of consequences.

Simply put: Hunting Monsters. That's all there really is to it--Raines spent years researching and targeting the forces of the undead, and have kept on their path despite the loneliness, despite the injuries, despite the fear.

Raines has a...somewhat complicated relationship with belief. For a long time, they were athiest, as one often is when their loved ones are slaughtered in front of them. Eventually they came to a somewhat easy peace with it, and shifted to a more agnostic stance

They eventually settled on Paganism being the most attractive to them, both for its actual beliefs, and for its access to certain kinds of magicks that might aid one in combating the undead. They are not particularly religious in the strict sense, but will often perform rituals in their quarters to maintain the strength of their more esoteric abilities.

Raines has a fairly loose sense of morality, at least compared to your average person. They care little for the rigidity of laws, but they have a strong sense of personal justice when it comes to violence or killings. An eye for an eye is something they've always ascribed to.

Casual and easygoing to a fault, with Southern charm slathered on so thick it'd shade you from the sun. Almost always friendly, but with a kind of politeness that feels more like a backhanded compliment. Has a tendency to mumble under their breath when they think.

Their voice has a slight crackle to it, but is for the most part fairly deep, thanks to the testosterone as well as the vocal training they'd practiced. This does mean they can also raise their voice to a much higher pitch than one might expect, which they use to great affect for funny goofs.

Raines writes in a messy, half-print half-cursive style that is more or less unreadable to most people. They've cultivated it after years of writing in their journal in diner booths and public transit, and though they should probably improve it, the difficulty of it does make it easier to hide their personal writings.

CHARISMATIC

Raines has learned the best way to get want you want out of someone is to give them something first--usually a compliment is enough to at least get them started, and a joke always brightens the mood.

INDEPENDENT

They spent much of their life alone, and they've adapted to the feeling. They can easily handle most undead, and they need little directing on missions.

DRIVEN

Though their attitude is often carefree, when it comes to their hunting and research, they have a single-minded determination. They'll spend hours hunched over a desk or out scouting for whatever nasty beastie they're after this time, and won't rest until it's dead.

RECKLESS

Raines is confident in their combat ability, and with good reason--but this can sometimes lead them to be a little too arrogant.

DISHONEST

They do their very best to keep everyone at arms' length, hiding secrets and vulnerabilities behind a veil of humor.

DISORGANIZED

The only one able to make sense of the mess that is Raines' notes is Raines himself--and even then it's a long shot.

One of the most valuable things Raines learned to do wasn't fighting; it was effective research. It takes careful sifting to parse out fact from fiction when it comes to monsters, and you don't want to find out you're wrong about a weakness when it's already ripping out your throat. Not only that, but finding the real cases underneath the rumor mill can be an art all its own.

One advantage of growing up in the south? Easy access to firearms and plenty of people who are more than happy to teach you how to use them. They took every chance they could get to practice their shooting, eventually finding themselves most drawn to shotguns and high powered rifles. They are also fairly adept at wielding their coffin like a big fuckoff battering ram, when needs arise.

Something they've picked up over the years to keep them busy during long bus trips, train rides, and stake outs (ha!). Always best to make your own stakes, ain't it? They've read a couple books on the art here and there, and have a small collection of the figurines they've made--though most of their creations are still buried in the corpses of the vampires they slayed with them.

Not all are lucky enough to have their own gunsmiths at their disposal. Raines had to learn all about the fun world of smelting in order to make their own silver bullets out of thrift store cutlery.

A lifetime fighting and running from the undead has given Raines a keen sense of intuition, and when their gut says to run, they listen. Their senses are heightened somewhat, not to that of a vampire, but they are often much more aware of what is going on around them than most others.

It wasn't until they'd started persuing the lesser practices that their affinity for magic showed itself. It is this proclivity that gives them their higher than average constitution against the undead, though it's quite a bit less fun than the movies make you think.
