Ajax

• His wings are flightless

Ajax is a mercenary with a strong moral code. While he'll do jobs for people within reason, he won't ever accept anything that infringes on his personal view of justice and supporting the innocent. He fights to protect those unable to protect themselves, and just does enough to live comfortably without fear of going without. He isn't greedy, and it's a survival task rather than a pursuit of power or fame or luxury. While he'd like to have a home someday, he also does enjoy exploring the world and for now is fine where he's at.

He is stoic and generally keeps to himself. He's more likely to let you talk while he listens than actually speak back, and simple nods, shrugs, or shakes of the head is his preferred method of communicating. He comes across as cold and uncaring- but his actions speak volume about his true heart. He's reliable, honest, and seen a lot of pain over the years, making him sympathetic to others in need and he'll always stop what he's doing to do the right thing. 

He doesn't engage in arguments and will simply walk away from anyone starting a fight with him unless he absolutely has to address the situation. While he will talk on occasion, he prefers to let someone's choices determine who they are in his eyes and whether he trusts them.

He's good at learning through observation, as its how he taught himself almost everything he knows. He's determined and if he sets his mind to something- you can well consider it done. 

Ajax came from a war torn country where his family was taken into the army drafts and lost in battle. Left to take care of himself at a young age, he turned to completing any job he was given for whatever money he could scrape up to get by. He taught himself to fight through working under masters, and has worked hard to earn everything he has in the world.

While he did a lot of wandering, and spent some years in a group of well known mercenaries (Until learning that they used their power to harm and steal from others and he took his leave. He didn't find a home until doing a job as a bodyguard with Mirela's Caravan. He was to protect them from bandits on a long trip, and in the process found a family in the little ragtag band of outcasts. At first making excuses for the job to last longer and longer....until it just became obvious he planned on staying with them.

He travels with the traders, protecting them from harm in exchange for anything he needs to get by. He isn't greedy- and having somewhere to rest his head and good friends is all he really wanted.
