- Younger brother of Gorillaz frontman, Stuart "2D" Pot.

- Played the guitar in the Gorillaz song "12D3", sung on "Momentary Bliss" (instead of slowthai) and "The Apprentice" (instead of Rag'n'Bone Man).

Dexter is a loyal person, especially to those who are lucky enough for him to consider family. His creativity is seemingly endless, to the point where he always (always) has a pen and notepad on his person, ready to jot down a few keywords or a sudden idea.
However, he isn't without faults. His loyalty can land him into trouble, where he lets his overly-caring nature take over and go over-the-top. He has a bad smoking habit, adopted from his brother, which he's been slowly cutting down on over the years. He's easily provoked, leading to his aggressive outbursts, intended or not.
BACKSTORY
. INTRO
Dexter Maxwell Pot is a regular Tesco employee with his own weekly radio show, and a "secret" musician. His main skill lies within creating stories and characters, which he tells through song. He releases his music under a pseudonym. A passionate and caring guy, with a lot of frustration pent up from over the years. Along with being a musician and radio host, he's also a handy in film, media and franchising, making him a decent stagehand. He helps behind the scenes with Gorillaz when he can.
. PAST & ABOUT
Brought up in Crawley, West Sussex with his brother, Dexter is a nervous, yet somewhat cocky individual. His main passion lies within music, being skilled in not only singing and playing (bass, melodica, keyboard, guitar and a little ukulele), but also in recording and publishing. Ever since he was a child, he dreamed of headlining sold out shows, and his passion continued to grow.
Yet, despite his hard work, Dex hasn't got very far. With his degrees in production and media, Dex could find somewhere to start up work in the area he dreamed of. However, despite all the options, he's settled with working part-time in a local Tesco superstore and a weekly radio show, alongside his secret music project. His project had gained a small, yet tight-knit community of fans, which he communicates with often. He has released singles not related to his project, along with small 3-song 'arcs', telling an ever evolving story. Dex is a big fan of tattoos, having a few professionally done along with a multitude of stick-n-poke ones that he and his brother had done together.
Dex is very close with his brother Stuart, otherwise known as 2D, the frontman of Gorillaz. Dexter held a bit of a grudge against his brother for successfully achieving his dream, but he couldn't hold it for long, he was just happy for his brother. The two decided that it would be best for Dex not to get publically involved with the band (yet he did spend a lot of time at Kong Studios with them), to avoid people getting close to Dex purely to meet his brother.
Yet, all this changed in 2010, the year of the Plastic Beach tour. In 2008, Stuart went missing. This year was the start of Dex's worst depression, becoming more self destructive than before. His past of drugs and drinking re-joined his habit of smoking and he got in an abusive relationship. He lost his radio show, his main passion aside from his then-abandoned music project. He knew his brother was alive, thanks to interviews, yet he had no clue where he was or how he was. Being with Murdoc, Dex could only assume the worst. When the tour was announced, Dex took that as the push he needed to get back in gear. He did extra hours to get the money needed to see his brother on tour. When the day came, he tried to get backstage, saying he was Stuart's brother. Yet, as they had decided to keep their relationship a secret, he wasn't believed and got kicked out. However, this didn't stop Dexter from sneaking back in, and scrambling up on stage. The show was then postponed, much to Murdoc's annoyance.
As of 2017, Dexter has been back with his weekly radio show, his project is back up and running and he's back at that Tesco store he hates with a passion. Yet, he now works closer with the band, at the sidelines. He helps with with promotional side of things and social media, along with performing live with them here and there. Dex still isn't ready to go more public with his music project, despite knowing it'll have a good boost with his popular radio show and his brother's band. He hopes to work on it more, whilst releasing more singles here and there before finishing it up and moving on with another.
RELATIONSHIPS
The Pot brothers are close, sharing everything together. As a kid, Dex aspired to be a musician, and grew somewhat bitter towards Stu at the start of Gorillaz. However they worked things out, and are as close as ever.
Noodle and Dex are very close, stemming from when Noodle first arrived at Kong Studios and Dex would help look after her. The two of them are very close and have daytrips together, just for a drive or to chill out.
Although they're not very close, Dex and Russel get along very well. Russ helped him a lot during phase 4, aiding him with finding help for his trauma. Russel has also tried to teach Dex how to cook numerous times, but failed.
To put it lightly, Dexter hates Murdoc's guts. He can barely stand being near him, acting civil with him. Dex has busted Murdoc's face a number of times in the past and won't hestitate to again if the situation calls for it.
Hesitant towards Ace at first, especially considering he replaced Murdoc as bass, causing Dex to have a slight grudge (Dex can play bass, why asn't he chosen?). However, he saw how Stu and Ace got along well, making him feel ok.
