Vyr didn't have the most positive start of its life. It was an orphan, never knowing much of anything about its birth parents. It eats it up inside but it’s got much bigger issues.

Twistville being a still developing city means a very shaky childcare system. And Vyr was not immune to falling into the cracks in this system.

Even as a child, Vyr has always been on the more fighty side of things. Choosing to fight any bullies it came across. Becoming a bit of a protector of sorts at the orphanage. Seeing as it was one of the oldest. And while it’s heart was in the right place, that doesn’t change the fact that many adults have unjustifiably labeled it as a “problem child”. And while this didn’t sway Vyr’s moral compass, it did give any parents second thoughts about keeping the poor kid. It’s almost terrifying to see what a small label could do.

A lot of the time Vyr would be sent back to the orphanage for the same reason; fighting in school. Lot of parents in Twistville expect a child to be blank. A canvas they can paint on. An unfeeling machine. But this child simply didn’t have that. Its personal justice system was set in stone and because of that, it was sent back to the orphanage the moment the adoptive parents would realize this. This constant back and forth has caused V to completely give up on the whole idea of getting adoptive parents by the time it reached adulthood.

It was around this time that Vyr decided to finally take off a rocky mercenary career, Thinking its powers can be used as a way of getting money on the side. While the young Mantagoat wasn’t above killing someone for pay so long as it doesn’t conflict with its sharpened morals, It soon realized this work wasn’t what it was destined for. The people it took orders from were no better than half the people it was ordered to “deal with” Vyr decided right then to take matters into its own hands. Dropping out of high school and choosing to stay as a mercenary as an easier way to hunt down worse people. Using the money it’s collected to purchase a small apartment and finally leave that orphanage behind.

Early adulthood was really where things at least slightly picked up for it. Completely getting rid of the mercenary idea and becoming a local vigilante. Mostly delving into cracking down on dangerous gangs and organized crime it can come across. Taking up the alias “Killer Cosmic” to keep its identity separate. Being both feared and revered among the community.

By this point Vyr has danced with death one too many times. Becoming numb to it. The mantagoat’s actions do not go unnoticed. The Alias “Killer Cosmic” being one of the more feared names among the underworld in Twistville. Because as soon as that name is mentioned. Bloodshed is soon to follow.
