Mariner's dead mate and former member of the Flock. She was kind and considerate, if a bit sad if you knew what to look for. Left the Flock initially due to feeling unfulfilled and not wanted in life, and travelled to the ocean to see if it could give her a reason to live. She instead found Mariner, and found his philosophies and musings to be incredibly interesting that she stuck around him. He seemed lonely, and so did Canary.

Their peaceful ocean life was interrupted though when Crane came to the ocean asking for shelter and aid for the ongoing war. Canary, wanting to help her previous colony, agreed to after convincing the begrudging Mariner. This ultimately led to her death at Lain's fangs.
