- born into a family of bakers; parents taught her how to bake from a young age
- had a little sister named Camille, who she loved dearly
- as she got older, discovered her love for singing and wanted to be a singer
- got a job as a lounge singer, in a shabby bar. had an equally shabby apartment nearby
- vampire who turned her was a regular at the bar she sang at. eventually, he killed and turned her so she could be with him forever, but she rejected him and ran off
- couldn't control her hunger at all when she was young. went back home to her family - her biggest mistake. eventually flew into a blood frenzy and when she came out of it... they were dead
- lost herself to hunger for decades, tearing through civilisations and never staying in one place for long. ripped the neck out of her victims - fed messily, hence the nickname "ripper" attributed to her murders.
- eventually, an older vampire found her and trapped her. they helped her learn to control her hunger, and taught her that there were other ways to feed - energy, dreams, even emotions. it was very difficult, but Cerise managed to learn how to feed on love rather than blood
- pupils changed to heart shape when she started feeding on love
- began developing empathic abilities to help her hunt, as well as charming abilities
- went through a lot of names and identities as she ran from her past - Lucretia, Kairos, Carys, Cerys, and finally, Cerise
- gave up on trying to be a singer, and fell back on her baking skills. now works as the pastry chef for the Witches' Brew Café
- wracked with the guilt of all the lives she's taken, but surprisingly isn't haunted by many ghosts
- she still cannot control herself around fresh blood
- makes specialty pastries for vampires, using blood. has a blood dealer who has already "harvested" and chilled the blood for her, so she can deal a lot better with it than fresh blood
- met Nemesis at the café once. Nemesis immediately knew what she was. Cerise promised to do Nemesis favours in exchange for her silence. what started as a somewhat toxic relationship eventually evolved into something like a friendship, resulting in Nemesis swearing not to tell anyone about Cerise out of actual concern for her now. Their friendship continued to grow, and when they met Estelle at the gallery, something beautiful blossomed between them
- would never tell Ulyssa but Xena is her favourite of her kids bc Xena isn't constantly making messes and disobeying her
