Freddorin, or as he tends to go by Freddie, was born to a family of globetrotters who never had a set home. However, he didn’t get to stay with them for very long as while he was still an infant, his family was attacked and killed by what Freddie has been told were savage beasts. Freddie himself also supposedly had passed as well. The murdered family was found by a trio who lived nearby. A copper dragonborn artificer named Wilward Asden, his human rogue wife Valencia Asden, and a silent elven cleric by the name of Chandrelle Eilrona. From stories they have told Freddie, they got there not long after the attack. Chandrelle went to work, trying to revive the five members of the family, though it was too late. Too much time had passed and they were seemingly past the point of no return. Except for Freddie though. Though still a baby, Chandrelle was able to revive him.

Though, hope wasn’t seemingly all lost for the other members of Freddie’s family. Wilward’s life passion is to try to bring back the dead, even if they have long since passed. This goal was done in the name of some deity named Revenar. And though he hadn’t (and still hasn’t) found exactly what he was looking for, he claims that he had to try whatever he could to save Freddie’s family. They brought the bodies of Freddie’s family back to where they lived. The route Wilward was trying to take to figure out how to bring back the dead (and by extension, immortality) was to try and preserve the soul into other bodies in order to keep that soul alive. He was an inventor and would create animal constructs. He, with the needed help of Chandrelle, would transfer the fleeting souls of Freddie’s family to four different constructs. One went to a bear construct, one to a bird, one to a rabbit, and the last one to a fox. It was something that he was still trying to figure out and research, but he seemingly had to just try and go for it to save these people. And apparently, they were successful. He and Chandrelle were able to transfer the souls of the family to the animal constructs. Though it wasn’t perfect.

Even though their souls were seemingly transferred to the constructs, they really retained none of their memories nor aspects of who they were before. So even though they’re souls possessed the constructs, they weren’t really… them. Though, this was still a success for Wilward. This was a big step in the right direction and maybe he could use this to reach his ultimate goal. And while their bodies were lifeless, their souls still live on. So Wilward hoped that eventually he could actually bring them back into new constructed bodies. But he never got the opportunity. He wasn’t able to keep the constructs for very long though. One day, not too long after he transferred their souls over, the constructs managed to escape while he and the others were out. It was devastating. These were the key to unlocking the secret of bringing back the dead, and they slipped right through his fingers. Oh, and of course this was terrible news for the poor infant who had just lost his family for a second time, truly tragic. They weren’t going to abandon Freddie though, and so they took him in and raised him. Over the years, Wilward tried to find the escaped constructs but to no avail. So he had to start from square one again and try and complete the same experiment. Though anytime he… came upon any dead people, he would try to transfer their souls. However it never worked. He wasn’t sure why though. He and Chandrelle always performed the ritual/experiment the exact way they did the first time. But it would never produce the same results. And his goal has been at a stand still for 25 years because of this.

Growing up, Freddie knew that Wilward, Valencia, and Chandrelle weren’t his blood family. They were seemingly open with him about what happened, and Freddie understood. It isn’t something that he’s very upset about since he doesn’t remember them at all. Though he’s sad he doesn’t have any memories of them since he was too young. Though it’s fine with him since the other three are basically his family anyway, so he’s never missed out. The three of Wilward, Valencia, and Chandrelle raised him and taught him pretty much everything. Under Wilward’s suggestion, he followed in Chandrelle’s footsteps becoming a life domain cleric himself, one that follows the supposed teachings of Revenar. Of course, this was all Freddie had known his whole life so he never had a problem with it. Though, anytime he brings up this Revenar to most other people, they don’t know who he’s talking about. The only other people who know of him are other followers who Wilward is friends with. This really has to do with the fact that, unbeknownst to Freddie, the followers of Revenar are a cult.

Revenar was a self-proclaimed prophet who has long since passed. They claimed that they were a daelkyr who was somehow cursed into losing their immortality. Revenar claimed that they were able to figure a way to make mortals immortal. Though, they would need help to do so and would only do so to people who bowed to them. They traveled across Eberron, trying to build a following. Most people just suspected them to be a crazy person, though they were able to build a small following. And centuries later after their death, Revenar still has managed to keep a small following. A following which is trying to figure out a way to bring Revenar back to life and find immortality. Revenar’s followers are devoted, but scarce. There weren't too many to begin with, and after centuries, that number has only lowered. The low numbers work to the cult’s advantage though as they are immensely overshadowed by actual Cults of the Dragon Below. No one really knows about them.

Wilward’s goal of trying to bring back the dead stems from trying to bring Revenar back. However with the constructs escaping all those years ago, he has been at a standstill. He needs to find the lost constructs as they were the closest he’s ever gotten. And he thinks that maybe Freddie could be his best bet. While he was just an infant, he was blood family to the souls who currently possess the constructs. While he has no concrete evidence for it, he’s hoping that maybe Freddie could be able to find them. Wilward knows that the constructs are out there, however he doesn’t have any leads on them, especially not after over 25 years. But he sent Freddie out anyway to try and find them. And Freddie happily obliged.
