Dredge belongs to no faction. When he was forged, he wanted nothing more than to be a cartographer, an explorer who paved the way for others. The senate had other plans for him and 'convinced' him to join as a reconnaissance unit by mutilating his body when he refused- the treatment of empurata. Since then, he had his hands restored. When the Decepticons rose up, Dredge was quick to join them in the hopes of destroying the ones who had broken him and fighting for the rights of those in similar situations to his own. He stayed with the Decepticons for a long time, until he was left for dead during a mission, stranded on one of Cybertron's moons. By Primus' will, he was able to hotwire an Autobot ship and claim it as his own. After years on the hunt, picking up odd jobs, he's found himself on Earth, ready to enact his vengeance on both of the sides that wronged him.
