Synfyr

Being young, naive, and freshly kicked out of home, Synfyr decided the best option for his survival was to form a pact with a patron deity that would provide what he needed. The deity refused to give its name and still does to this day but it gave Syn the protection he needed as well as a gift - the ability to see into the future.

Recognising the opportunity such a power would provide, he was quick to profit and became a fortune teller, touting himself as the a true oracle. However, he was not warned of the effects that would come about from use of the gift. Without sufficient rest, constantly gazing into the future slowly whittled away at his vision. Syn did not notice tye degradation until it was far too late and he was blinded permanently, no longer able to see neither the future nor the present.

Synfyr lamented his situation for weeks before his patron took pity on him. The god assumed the form of a small feathered dragon and granted Syn the ability to see through its eyes. Though the situation was far from ideal, he chose the make the best of it. Dubbing his new familiar Friend (much to the deity’s chagrin), he set out with the wish of becoming a merchant as his mother had once been before meeting his father. Though he is far from honest and is often chased from towns for his snake oil shilling, he enjoys his new life.

Synfyr is mischievous and sly with a silver tongue that could rival most. He has yet to meet a situation he coudldn’t talk himself out of. Friend tends to go along with the whole operation out of guilt for not warning his follower.
