What an absolutely awesome and adorable design!! A robotic puppet is just such a cool concept to explore, poor bot for wanting to try to fit in by covering up his joints and mechanical parts though QWQ At least he has friends who truly support and care for him regardless!
I’m so eager to learn more about him!! Do you think you’ll try drawing what his mechanical anatomy would look like without clothing covers, or maybe even draw out what his inner mechanisms look like that make him function? I’m aalways curious to learn more about well designed characters like this!
The way his mouth moves is heavily inspired by Geno from Super Mario RPG, where his mouth is stagnant and only moving up and down, but he emotes with his eyes and eyebrows. Luckily, Marionne built him to where his mechanisms are near inaudible unless listening closely or putting your ear up to Pup, but the clothes do help muffle any noise for sure. The loudest mechanic he has is his hand hook shot, which is what the strings going through his arms to his hands are for! He has spools of indestructible string in his torso that unravel when he shoots his hands to grab onto objects like ledges or anything not within immediate reaching distance!
