🌙 Kay Lagarou 🌙

Main/canon lore: 

Kay was raised in a small pack of “domesticated” (city-dwelling) werewolves that reside in a society where intelligent monsters live amongst humans. Her birth pack consists of her parents and a younger sister.

Kay has always been a quiet, shy individual; definitely not one for violence or confrontation. Her meek personality made her the submissive member of the pack and she was often picked on. Her gentleness and naïveté just didn’t fit in with the rest of her family. She always did as she was told and feared disapproval from anyone.

Kay truly lives up to the title of “lone wolf.” She tends to self-isolate in fear of hurting others (or perhaps even herself.) She is hesitant to get too close, as she fears losing those she cares about.

For the entirety of her life she has struggled internally: she has her father’s anger and her mother’s jealousy, which can make her lash out and become insufferable when she feels emotionally vulnerable. She’ll strike out quickly in self defense, only to later realize she didn’t mean what she said… After having driven many away, she sees herself truly as a monster. A truly monstrous werewolf does not belong with domestic counterparts, she figures, thus she comes to leave her pack to protect them from herself. Partly a journey of self discovery, and partly because she did not wish to hurt them anymore.

She comes to struggle with loneliness and adapting to the new lifestyle of being on one’s own in the unforgiving wilderness. She thought of herself as a monster, and is quickly given a reality check when she runs into *real* ones…

At one point in time she fell in love with a human who hunted werewolves, but he soon realized he couldn’t deal with her animalistic tendencies. She bares the scars from him on her chest and one on her knee. It was after that she made a vow to be even more hesitant of whom she trusted… especially when it comes to love. 

Kay doesn’t let many people into her inner circle, and those who do come in, she’s loyal to for life. Earn her trust and she’ll stand by you. But be warned: become her friend, and you’ll see her true self: the good, the bad, and the ugly. And, perhaps, come to learn about the awkward and hopeless romantic she is deep down. 

Deep inside, Kay yearns for love, affection, and acceptance. She knows she’s a beast that’s very far from perfect, and that it will not be easy to obtain such things, if ever. 

Favorite things: snowy days, spending time with loved ones, food, plushies, cuddling, learning new things 

Fears: sudden loud noises, weapons, being hurt, being alone, change

Defining features/physical description:

Around 5 feet 6 inches tall in normal form. Medium sized tail; the tip rests just above the back of her knees. Covered head to toe in a soft, plush ivory coat with grey shaded markings on her extremities, face, tail, and back. Ears are smaller than that of the average werewolf variety. She sheds in the summer; her winter coat is longer and softer. Once her coat thins, the pink skin on her tummy may be visible. Unlike the stereotypical image of a muscular werewolf, she is very much “fluffy.” Takes the number one award for softest lap: her belly and thighs make a wonderful place to rest a weary head. Her chest is medium sized. 2 scars run across her sternum area, along with one on her knee.

AU/normal anthro world lore:

Kay Lagarou is a free-spirited she-wolf in search of her place in the world. A relatively recent college grad with little work experience in her field, she’s travelled a lot taking on temporary jobs until she lands a spot in her dream career of working in academia.

Kay is quiet, awkward, and a soft spoken nerd. She loves to talk biology and the sciences in general. She does what she’s told without question and is an honest, hard worker.

Outside of working, Kay attempts to be social so her life doesn’t feel so empty. Traveling has left her without many friends. She frequents coffee shops, art galleries, and the local music gig in search of like-minded folks.
