Aster's entrance to the world was just as baffling as they are; speaking a language of their own despite seeming to understand common just fine, they're otherworldly, unsure of why they're here or what they should be doing. All they know is that rocks are pretty cool, and they have made it their mission to find all the ones they can.
Aster is a Pokemon that follows the beat of their own drum. Fairly shameless, they are known for being quite blunt, their opinions and feelings transparent despite the language barrier. You can tell when they're calling you a dumbass in their mind, but it's just as easy to see when they're appreciating you. They don't make enemies easy, instead preferring good vibes and known for being on the friendly side. Naturally curious, they're always open for new experiences and adventures. Not having lives alongside others long, though, they find themselves being quite naive, easily believing things that might not be true. Paying attention is hard, and Aster often finds themselves spacey, thinking about Arceus knows what; when they're not zoned out, though, they can often be found dozing, usually appearing quite sleepy and low energy. They often find themselves struggling to empathize with others' needs, the label apathetic being fitting more often than not, and Aster isn't someone most would find themselves telling their problems to. That's okay by them, though, more inclined to meeting their own needs and decidedly self-interested.
Sand Continent
Sahra Town
No memories other than the white noise of space, Minior landed on the Sand Continent, taken in by a local innkeeper who effectively names them 'Aster'. Though content enough helping out at the inn, they knew this wasn't what they were destined for. With a passing merchant, their interest in rocks and stones of all varieties were realized, and that kickstarted their journey to Kala Island and finding a Wayfarer team willing to take them in; namely, Team Fishback.
This Minor, like other Minior, originated from space itself; they have little memory of what happened before landing in the sand, a hazy image of gentle black and calming white noise. It was peaceful, and all they ever knew, content floating beside the rocks by themself.
The Minior falls from the sky, landing in the desert, their shell cracking some in the process. They were found confused, alone, and not knowing how to speak the common language by a merchant, instead babbling in a voice and language that could only be described as otherworldly. Having no where else to go, they travel with them to Sahra Town where an elderly innkeeper takes them in. The continent isn't safe for a lost soul.
The innkeeper asks their name. They shake their head, not having one. After a quiet moment of contemplation, the innkeeper suggests one: Aster... like asteroid, certainly where they must have come from. The joke is lost on the Minior, and Aster takes the new name without question.
Aster takes it in stride, helping around the inn and quickly becoming a welcome presence. The innkeeper teaches them some sign language, learning alongside them. But they can't help but feel restless. Why are they here? Who are they really?
A merchant arrives at the inn for the night, but they aren't any merchant Aster has seen before; indeed, they carry... stones. Evolution stones and mega stones, shiny stones and dull stones, odd crystals and rocks both smooth and textured. Truly part of their nature, they were drawn to them. Seeing their intruige, the merchant gave them a few they had spare to keep, to start their own collection, telling tales of where they all came from. Snow continent, grass continent, the archipeligo and Serene Island... all places they had heard of of course, but now they held a part of them in their hands.
As the merchant headed to their room for the night, bidding farewell, Aster's foggy vision of the future became clear.
Running downstairs with nothing but a cloak on their back and a vague idea of where to go, Aster ran by the innkeeper, who was left flabbergasted, asking where they were going. Sporatically, they do their best to indicate away, the ocean, Kala Island- and the innkeeper doesn't try to stop them. A smile on their face, the innkeeper wishes them safe travels. Aster motions for them to come with them, but the innkeeper refuses, too old and having a job to do here; however, they give Minior some pocket money and a ring with a little stones of every color, purchased from the merchant that left earlier that morning; a piece of them to take with them on their journey.
And with that (and some language barrier struggles), Aster hopped on the next boat headed for Ethovalon.
Aster arrives at Ethovalon and immediately 'asks' around for any other directions, having not thought this far ahead quite yet. Requesting 'adventure' turns into 'guild' and then 'Wayfarers', leading to Aster seeking out a Wayfarer team willing to take in a new member knowing nothing of the world. Looking at flyers and trying their best to communicate what they were looking for, it took Minior a while, a few days of trying to find a team up to adding a member who didn't quite speak the same language. Eventually, they found them: Team Fishback, lead by two misfits in their own right, similarly landing in a place that wasn't quite home.
Eager to begin, Aster was more than happy to accept their offer to join. It's with them they adopted the nickname 'Rocky', or simply 'Rocks', for their interest in them; not knowing any better, they simply assumed they were giving them another name. Thus, they were now 'Aster Rocky'.
Gifted by the innkeeper they stayed with, they are never caught without it; sometimes, they can even be found just... staring at the stones.
Never caught without it.

Focused on their needs alone, Aster takes breaks when they need, and sometimes that includes the odd off nap in less-than-ideal situations. However, rarely are they ever malicious, instead quite passive and not initiating confrontation.
