Mr. Jack Summers is a 70s reality/talk show TV star that's been washed up and blacklisted from Hollywood after murdering somebody live on TV- he swears to god he was framed, someone set him up, it was an accident- but nobody believes him. Though not declared guilty due to a lack of hard evidence, everyone saw what they saw. The darling of TV remains a household name, but now for all the wrong reasons.
His cohost won't help him, his wife divorces him, his family stops speaking to him, and he loses his job, abandoned by Hollywood completely after giving them everything he had and then some. It's enough to drive a man mad- and it does.
After being kicked down and stomped into the dirt by the people who swore he was worth something time and time again, Mr. Summers brandishes a shotgun and storms his former show's studio while they're live on air- and paints the whole thing red for all of America to see.
