She is definitely a person that "follows your heart", instead of listening to your head. She doesn't think logically sometimes and responds according to her emotions.
She is a "free spirit". She likes to go with the flow, and she tries to be optimistic, though she does fail from time to time. She cares about everyone's feelings and opinions. She tries her best to help others, even though sometimes all she can do is offer a hug. She does tend to be a touch emotional depending on herthe topic of conversation.
She does get distracted and bored fairly easily. If she starts one project she will most likely move on to another the following day and then rotate between the 2 until one is complete, she then will continue this cycle (it is how she somehow stays organized). Her sewing room is actually quite a disaster. Be careful where you walk, you may step on a needle, or some fabric (which she may get upset at you for messing up with your dirty feet). Also, yarn, rulers, and patterns could be laying about. Her desk is cluttered with the different projects she started. And is just a tad hoarder of fabrics. (Especially glittery or sparkly fabrics.)
If a friend asks her to make an outfit she would be ecstatic and drag the friend to her sewing room as she would throw layers of fabric over the person to see which "best suits" them. She also may protrude on personal space when she has a measuring tape in her hand. She does have a small nack in assuming a close estimate in a person's measurements but would still measure just to get the correct numbers just in case.
However, she does act more professionally around her commissioners.
She hates the cold and would most likely fall a lot in the wintertime since she would walk due to having her wings tucked under her winter attire to keep them from being frosted. However, she would barely go outside in the winter unless she really has to. She also does have weak ankles, which wouldn't help in the wintertime. also why she tends to hover/fly places in spring, summer, and fall. doesn't take much for her to accidentally sprain an ankle.

how temperature affects her wings:
- if in the 30s degrees Fahrenheit, she risk her wings being frosted and easily shattered. (she starts feeling cold in 60s, even lower 70s)
-if the weather is 110 degrees ferenheit, she risk her wings basically warping and become too soft and unusable. (she starts feeling too heated about mid 90s)
Backstory:
The night Nira was born, for whatever reason, her biological parents decided they didn’t want her. So they placed her in a small basket made from trigs with only one small blanket to keep her warm.
When passing by, a barn owl noticed the basket.Upon further inspection, she noticed there was a baby fairy inside. Concern for the welfare, she picked up the basket with her talons, before flying off towards her nest. She turned human (a shapeshifter for only barn owl) when she landed infront of a wide tree. In the trunk of a tree was a small shelter. It was only 2 rooms, but provided protection from the elements as well as possible predators. Inside the shelter was her 2 year old son. Whom, she explained that he is now an older brother, and no matter what he has to look after her. At the time, her son Jacolo was enthused at the idea of being a brother.
Throughout the years, the days remained nice, and Nira was raised by the mother owl. She would always go out at night and gather food for the next day. The Owl adored having Nira as part of her family, she felt like her life was full having the 2 children, it made her family unique. When Nira was 4 and Jacolo was 6 (Jacolo was enrolled in school), one night after dinner, when the Owl left to get food for the next day, she did not return. When morning came Jacolo assumed the worst and figured he needed to take care of Nira now. He then gave Nira strict rules, saying she had to always stay home, and told her the outside world is dangerous. Whenever he went to school, he would always bring home extra from lunch, so he could give it to Nira for super. There was always enough left over that he could put it to the side and place it out for lunch for Nira the next day. And for awhile this worked. But 1 year later, Nira became curious where Jacolo went everyday. So she followed him, far away where she was out of sight, but close enough to not get lost. She remained unnoticed until recess time, after a certain sequence of events occurred, resulting in an office visit for the two. But nothing bad happened from it, instead it allowed Nira to also be enrolled in school. So it ended up working out well, since now, both of them could save some left over from lunch to ring home for dinner. Once again things worke well for a certain amount of time.
But 2 years later, when Nira was 7 and Jacolo was 9, Jacolo befriended a group of kids in his grade which led to him, entering a phase of thinking “girls had cooties”. So he started off, just ignoring/avoiding Nira at school, then becoming snappy at her at home, then eventually never coming home either, he ended up always staying at friends’ houses or something. This led Nira to spiral into a emotional state, quesitoning what she did wrong? Also began making the young girl reflect on how her biological parents didn’t want her, for some reason her mother figure never returned, and now after him avoiding and yelling her, Jacolo left too. She was constantly lonely at home, but she remained surviving on the scraps/leftovers from lunch. It was around this time where she met and befriended her best friend Kat. However, she began being cautious in her actions, not wanting to upset people, she also became very apologetic. One of her teachers took sympathy on her and even though she never dare ask Nira any questions regarding her home life, she made sure that Nira was well cared for and loved at school. A year passed and Nira was only able to spend time with Kat at recess, before and after school (since Kat was in a grade higher than Nira), until one night Nira was invited by Kat to stay the night at Kat’s house. This was when Nira was able to meet Kit, Kat’s twin, for the first time. A few days after however, Kat grew curious why Nira always head to the forest after school, why Nira never talked about her home. So that day Kat followed Nira to the small shelter in the words. This led to many concerns, and confronting Nira and questioning her. This led to a break down from Nira as she ended up blabbing everything to Kat. It ended up being a long rant that Nira needed to let out. Nira told about her biological parents and how she came to live in this tree. How the owl found her and raised her, but one night never returned, and spent a lot of time about how Jacolo left her.
Nira was able to hang out with Kat a bit more in the next year as well, with more sleep overs occurring every so often. After 2 years since he left (Nira 9, Jacolo 11, Kat 10), Jacolo realized his mistakes and apologized to Nira and came back home. He was glad that Nira was able to find someone to watch over her at school and befriend, though it did take a while for Jacolo to gain trust from Kat after he left Nira for 2 years. But honestly, he probably didn’t care, as long as Nira was quick to forgive, he had no concern on her friend’s opinion on him.
In highschool was when Nira and Kat as a friend group combined with Kit and his friend (Cath) to make one long friend group. It was around this time, that Jacolo realized except for when he was in school he preferred to be in his bird form. The 4 years in highschool, was when Nira and her group of friends became very close.
After she graduated, Jacolo began to realize He was starting to crush on Nira, but kept it to himself mostly. Nira ended up moving to the big city with her friends. They all rented out apartments within the same building, on the same floor (between her and her friends, they took up one floor). When they moved was when she was introduced to Cath’s family and was able to relate and befriend his father figure Celeste. Within the city the group of friends was able to blossom and fullfill their dream career paths. Kat became an artist, Kit became a well-known gamer on social media platforms (similar to Markiplier), Nira was able to become a successful seamstress and took commissions from many people. Jacolo ended up becoming her roommate. But only Kat and her knew he had a human form, the boys were unaware, and thought Jacolo was just a spoiled pet of Nira’s that got his own room. Even Jacolo technically was unaware that Kat knew. Until, one day Kit walked in on Nira talking to Jacolo in human form and questioned her, who this guy was. After nira explain almost like it was obvious, it shocked Kit to the point where he tried spreading the news to Kat, where she expressed that she already knew, but Cath overheard, and eventually everyone knew that Jacolo had a human form (much to Jacolo’s dislike).
Nira started off with a decent amount of commissions, and handful became recurring customers. However, her commissions increased due to Kit’s influence and convincing her to start posting her works online so more people can see. It was with his help in technology knowledge that was able to open an online shop (like etsy) to help her more. However, her commissions greatly increased after it was mentioned on Kit’s channel a few times and she helped him out a few times content wise.
When She was 19 (Jacolo 21), Jacolo confessed to her, admitting his romantic feelings towards her. Nira felt bad when having to decline his feelings, explaining to Jacolo that she could never see him in that way, and how Jacolo has, and is an older brother figure to her. However, in the following spring, right before she turned 20 was when she realized that she was crushing on Kit. Shortly after her birthday that she also realized she wasn’t only crushing on Kit but also Kat…. But she managed to keep it a secret. However, late autumn, when she was realizing Kit was liking this barista at a cafe they went to every morning. She began to get a tint of jealousy whenever she would witnessed Kit flirt with her. She still teased Kit and encouraged him to get in a relationship with her, to hide the fact she has been crushing on Kit. However, when they would return home, Nira would go to her apartment and cry to herself. Her jealousy wasn’t angry, or caused her to few the other person in a negative light, but instead only cry and wish it could be her. It was one day she was crying over Kit, that Kat walked in leading to Nira telling Kat she liked Kit. After this point Nira was able to confine in Kat about anything that had to do with a crush. Nira’s crush on Kat she was able to keep more secret. One day in Ddecember, was when Nira found out Kit was planning on confessing to his crush. So before there was no chance to tell him, she wanted to confess to him. So she wrote up a letter, containing all her emotions and confession to him. Before giving it to Kit, She gave it to Kat to review it. After was given an “ok” she went to Kit’s apartment, knocked on his door. When he answered, she shoved the paper in his hands saying “don’t read it until I leaves” and ran back to her apartment and hid under blankets. It was shortly after that he came to find her and basically return her feelings and ask if she would be his girlfriend.
Things were content until, January where Jacolo became very jealous about kit dating Nira. One night when expressing his dislike towards kit, and tried telling Nira some of kits “flaws”, Nira got angry back, resulting in an argument between the two. Jacolo ended up storming off and leaving. The day after Nira became paranoid after Jacolo not returning and felt bad about yelling at Jacolo. She knew about the blizzard warning that was supposed to happen in a few hours, as well as being aware that everyone was out shopping for needed household items. So she left to go find Jacolo. It wasn’t until everyone returned an hour later that they realized Nira was gone. They all panicke with the upcoming blizzard and seeked to go find her. However it was after the blizzard started that they managed to find her freezing on a bench crying. After bringing her home and tending to her needs, they began questioning her. When realized Jacolo left her again, they did their best to help her while she was sick for the next week. And after another week, after many meltdowns, they finally managed to get Nira in a cheerful mood again. However, Jacolo returned, this time resulting in another argument, but between Jacolo and Kit. Expressing how could Jacolo treat Nira this way. And once again, agitating Jacolo caused him to fly off. But this time was only gone for 2 days before coming back but then made to apologize by Kat. He then explained to Nira, it would be best if he just left and go find a place of his own. He would still visit. But he needed to go, and basically pleaded with her to not get emotional again. Saying how she has a great group of friends. How he was wrong and very childish. He does approve of her dating Kit and feels confident that he would protect and love Nira the way she deserves.
In my character permissions, I okayed for Nira to be drawn in a ship art with Kat, due to a “what-if” situation, where instead of Kat approving Nira’s confession letter to Kit, she told Nira she doesn’t want Nira giving Kit that letter since she likes Nira. which would result in Nira returning the feelings.
Basically Nira was crushing on both twins, and actually both twins were crushing on her (Just kit it was longer, he was crushing on Nira since they were in highscool. Kat start crushing on nira about a year after living in the apartments.)
