Xiuying

xiuying was born as the eldest child into a family whose lineage could be traced back all the way to the archon wars via the many generations that have served as a millelith. be it in the millelith brigade or when the millelith began reporting to the qixing his family had always had at least one child become part of the military force. as such, he was expected to join the millelith when he came of age.

right away, xiuying could tell that this wasn't the right line of work for him. each and every polearm he used felt wrong and unbalanced in his hands and using such weapon just never clicked with him. not wanting to let his family down, he trudged onwards through his training despite the many, many injuries that he received during such training.

this was the beginning of his near-daily visits to the bubu pharmacy for his wounds. they ranged from minor sprains to large cuts and bruises. each and every time, he'd make the trek from the training grounds to the bubu pharmacy to have doctor baizhu look over his injuries. no matter how severe, the kind doctor treated them with a gentle smile. the more that xiuying became a regular, the more that the two grew close.

as the doctor and regular patient grew closer, the more that the baizhu's hesitations and concerns were voiced to xiuying, and with baizhu's advice he left the millelith to become an adventurer and pick up the sword rather than the polearm. this, of course, drew the ire of his family, but he decided to live on his own terms and for himself rather than to please his family and their wants.
