Hazelheart is a slender, lithe tom. He has a lean body, complete with long legs and a sleek pelt. His fur is a pale cream colour, patterned with tawny stripes around his face and faded stripes down his legs. He has three scars that stretch across his chest, just below his throat, and a thick claw-mark across his left shoulder. Whilst his coat is overall short and smooth, his tail is long and feathery. The tip of his tail is a smoky shade of brown and his paw pads are a peach colour.
Hazelheart’s face is triangular and his muzzle is long. He has a dusky-pink nose and dark blue eyes. His eyes are almond-shaped - large yet narrow - and he has wide, almost droopy ears. The backs of his ears are a tawny colour, while the insides of his ears are a peachy pink.

Hazelheart is a bit of a dreamer; he’s an optimist, always trying to find the positives in difficult situations. He makes a good friend, capable of both listening and giving advice. His manner is calm and relaxed yet still rather out-going. However, his youthful demeanour can mean that he acts naïvely and sometimes without question. Hazelheart is a trustworthy warrior, known for his caring nature – hence the addition of ‘heart’ to his name. Although, this could be seen as a double-edged sword; being so kind means that he can be easily manipulated. Aside from this gullibility, Hazelheart can be scatter-brained and often sets unrealistic expectations for himself and occasionally others.
Hazelheart is quite the social butterfly, getting along with most cats and finding himself at ease in social settings. He’s always trying to make new friends. He loves to explore and go on ‘adventures’, especially with friends. He hates feeling alone and will go out of his way to find reasons to spend time around others. He believes in StarClan but doesn’t really think much about them in everyday life – he doesn’t see why they would need to communicate with him when they have leaders and medicine cats to send messages to. However, he follows the Warrior code with great enthusiasm, determined to make his clan proud.

Nomenclature

History
Hazelheart was born in SeaClan. His mother, Mistrunner, died from complications whilst kitting. She was known for her excellent fishing abilities and her agile beauty. Hazelheart’s father, Shellsnap, fell in love with her when he saw her fishing upon the Crumbling Ridge. They became mates and, shortly afterwards, Mistrunner fell pregnant with their first and only litter. Both Shellsnap and Mistrunner were extremely enthusiastic about becoming parents, unaware of the coming tragedy. Mistrunner passed away due to blood loss, after going into labour earlier than expected. One of their three kits also passed away. Shellsnap tried to remain a supportive and present father but found it difficult after the death of his mate. The two surviving kits were named Hazelkit and Minnowkit. They were raised mainly by the clan’s queens.
Once they became apprentices, the pair were inseparable. They were very competitive but cared deeply for one and other. One day, whilst playing on the shoreline near the Mist Shrouded Caverns, Minnowpaw fell into deep waters and was knocked unconscious. Hazelpaw leapt in after her but could not rescue her before she drowned. She was given a warrior name – Minnowshimmer - as per SeaClan’s custom. Her death greatly affected Hazelpaw, as well as Shellsnap. The death of his daughter did seem to make Shellsnap more appreciative of his remaining kit. Unfortunately, this would not last long, as he would die in a border skirmish whilst on patrol. Hazelpaw was soon after named Hazelheart; he was Mistrunner and Shellsnap’s only kit to survive long enough to become a warrior.
Hazelheart went on to serve as a warrior under Tidalstar, Brightstar and Lightstar. He would take Lilacbreeze as his mate and they would have a litter of two kits together, Austerekit and Heatherkit. His career as a warrior had never a dull moment - from the collapse of SeaClan’s camp to the battle for Broken Shoals to rescuing Lilacbreeze from a badger attack. Ever the loyal warrior, he travelled with his clan to the new territories, hoping to give his kits a better life there. After a long service to SeaClan, he would suddenly but peacefully pass away in his sleep, greeted by his sister in StarClan.

Gully came to SeaClan as a lost kit; Hazelheart immediately took him under his wing and the pair became brothers.

Foamfleck was a good friend of Hazelheart's, sharing similar opinions on their dislike of war.
