Full Name: Lind Averi-Tok
Alias: Tok, Averi-Tok, Boss, Primakh
Gender: Male
Orientation: Androsexual/Pansexual (attracted to masculinity)

Species: Vena-Dura
Height: 7'8" not including horns
Weight: 300 lbs

PERSONALITY:

Averi-Tok exudes confidence in every realm of his life. He's outspoken, cocky, head-strong, and prone to storming blindly into situations with every faith in his ability to handle it. He sees everything as a new challenge and thrives on combat--on the ultimate form of self-improvement. Of course, adding to this his desire for success and wealth do well to make him the perfect mercenary. There are few jobs he'd turn his back on, however the man does have very strict moral values that he abides by unflinchingly. He would never harm a child, and times wherein he accidentally harmed innocent people weigh on him every day. His heart is in the right place, for the most part, but he just so happens to have ended up in a particularly violent line of work.

When it comes to relationships, Tok is the sort to trust swiftly and punish betrayal to that trust equally so. His level of protectiveness and care over those in his life often garners him a somewhat fatherly role in peoples' lives, despite sometimes being the most immature of the lot. He has a bleeding heart for those in need, especially those he can relate to, but at the very least is less likely to help those in minor distress unless money is involved. Despite his relative arrogance, he also has a great aversion to speaking of his past or his royal blood. This is more because of whom he's related to, and the circumstances of his past, than the actual status as royalty.

BIO:

Averi-Tok was born into the royal Lind family of one of the largest Vena-Dura colonies on their home planet, Ova-Nara. As the fourth in line to the throne, Tok had little concern of ever inheriting his mother's crown, and so he was granted a life of luxury and indulgence utterly devoid of responsibility, save for the routine combat training all of his siblings were required to endure. At least, until tragedy began to befall his family--first with the mysterious death of his eldest brother, and then his two other elder siblings within a year. This threw Tok unexpectedly into line with the throne, which left many suspecting he may have had something to do with the deaths in the family. His entire world became one of paranoia and suspicion and, while at first he believed the guards asigned to his company to be for his own protection, he came to realize it was simply to keep an eye on him--even his own mother believed him responsible.

Taking matters into his own hands, Tok began taking his combat training more seriously and learning the handling of various weapons. At the same time, he started investigating the deaths of his siblings, trying to uncover clues into who might have been responsible. Little progress was made until his mother, Quiar Lind, suddenly fell ill, and this time Tok had witnessed his younger brother, Jikur-Mil just prior. Of course, Tok didn't want to believe that his baby brother would be behind all of these losses, and he approached him innocently to inquire about his visit with their mother. Mil attacked Tok, shooting him in the head and leaving him to die while staging the scene as an attempted suicide. Tok survived, but only barely, and was instead arrested as the murderer of his siblings and the Quiar--his mother had died as well.

Despite his best attempts at proving his innocence, the entire colony seemed convinced of his crimes. Mil inherited the throne in his stead, appointing an entire new authority that was entirely in his pocket. It seemed Tok was doomed to death. But he was not the only citizen of the colony, or even of the royal family, who realized the reality of what was happening. His sister and a group of her followers raided the castle--freeing Tok and attempting Quiar Mil's murder. The attempt failed, with Tok and his sister just barely escaping the planet with their lives.

They stayed together for a time, evading Vena-Dura authorities and the military of their brother's kingdom, but soon realized they were an easy target so long as they were with one another. So they split, communicating whenever possible but building new lives for themselves. Tok's sister joined a galactic peace-keeping force for protection, and Tok became a mercenary.

SKILLS:

  Capabilities
Physical Prowess
  • Due to his size and weight, Tok is exceptionally strong and durable. While lacking in speed or agility, he packs a significant punch.

Protrusions
  • Possesses natural sharp 'talons' on either elbow, as well as his forearms. Those at his forearms retract into small slits, whereas those on his elbows do not. Both pairs of talons are super strong, often either used as weapons, or to defend against blows and guard his face.

Combat Training
  • Tok has been in training since he was a child. He's skilled in self defense, hand-to-hand combat, and strategy.
  • He's also become quite skilled with various forms of weaponry. Generally, he carries with him a pair of long matching blades as well as a large assault rifle.

Leadership
  • As the 'boss' of his pack of mercenaries, Tok has the resources of those working under him. He's experienced in directing others, making decisions--decisions often up to debate within his group.

OTHER FACTS:

  • The scar over the right side of his face limits his eyesight somewhat; he also can't taste anything on that side of his mouth. He sometimes gets migraines due to the old wound there.
  • Often claims he's just the average Vena-Dura raised on a mining colony.
  • Tends to be easily tempted by vices--drinking, sex, etc. Has shared bed with more than one 'paid companion' in his post-royalty life.
  • Never goes by his family/mother's name 'Lind', since he is still wanted for the murder of his three siblings and Quiar Lind.

 SPECIES FACTS:

  • The Vena-Dura range between 7'5-8' in height, weighing upward of 250lbs. Males are generally bulkier, while females are lean but devoid of breasts. Gender is less concrete in their culture, with individuals generally identifying more as 'masculine', 'feminine', or genderfluid rather than just male or female.
  • The vertical lines on their heads absorb light and color, whereas the membrane on their forehead absorbs vibrations--allowing for their sigh. They smell through their tongues similar to lizards. Their mouths are four segments, which open vertically and horizontally when open fully. Generally, this is only done out of rage, or to intimidate.
  • Horn shape varies slightly, with males always having two separate horns, and females having two horns that actually connect at the top.
  • Their home planet is split into colonies spanning entire continents and regions. The Vena-Dura are the dominant species on the planet and are often at conflict with each other, similar to human countries. They are fairly advanced, space-fairing, and range in their political structure. A worldwide Vena-Dura military enforces global law, and aids individual colonies in their exploits off-planet.
  • Since Tok left the planet, his brother, Quiar Mil, has consumed two separate colonies through military force, and has created a stronger presence off-planet. Due to his ruthlessness, Quiar Mil has become a popular name in galactic news channels.
