Sugaru is a dumbo octopus made entirely of jelly. He lives in his natural habitat, in the deep waters of the ocean, where he enjoys tranquility and solitude. Due to her reserved nature, Sugaru is not accustomed to the company of many people.

Despite his preference for solitude, Sugaru often surfaces to collect objects and debris which she uses to decorate her underwater home or to create her own clothing.
