Facts
ProfileBiographyNehitra was one of many children in a poor family. As a young child (aged 4 or 5 years), she was sold to the temple to become a servant of the gods. Se got an education and was told how to sing, dance and play several instruments. She was raised by the oldest temple servant and later protuding servant, Tuula Shur (called Tuu).Nehitra accidentally got to know about policy manipulation by the religious leaders and began sticking her nose in these things hidden from the people. She got sceptical about the temple institution and their actions. However, her curiosity was fatal: she was busted, her investigations were discovered and she was meant to be dispatched. Luckily, she got away from the temple and the city. On her way, Nehitra stole a guard's equipment (armor and sword) and also some golden ritualistic spurs, as well as the high priest's blessed cithara - an ancient instrument which is passed through the priests' generations. (Initially she wanted to sell the latter two items but kept them instead.) It is said, that the cithara possesses magical and extrasensory powers but nobody, not even the priests believed in that because it was played seldomnly and if even, shortly, during the rites. When Nehitra tried the instrument after her escape she realised that it is actually different from all instruments she played so far and will indeed be a powerful support and very useful for her. After getting away from her former life, she hired herself out as a bard. Despite being unrecognised out of town, she was still worried to be caught. But the people in the country love a good entertaining song and she gets along kind of well. However, afflicted by her worries, she keeps on traveling the world from now on. ReligionThe religion she served is based on giant bird gods. There are several different gods responsible for all kinds of issues. The highest of them all are Urth (a golden rooster, god of the sun and day) and Norurth (a black rooster, god of the darkness and the night). Both are worshipped equally (there is no "good and evil" god!). Therefore the piercing (symbolising a beak), the feathers, spurs and the ornaments at the cithara's head. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
